At the Movies with William Fletcher

To tie into the release of Disney's newest release, Wish, the show is having a look back at some of the classics in the studio's backlog and talking about the history of these films, Jim Carrey and the live action remakes. 

With the release of Saltburn being incredibly soon, the show will be looking at Emerald Fennell's first film, Promising Young Woman with a discussion on the film as well as the current state of certain things. 

The conclusion of David Fincher's filmography with conversations on his 5 most recent films, monologuing and gender dynamics.

This episode is the beginner of a two parter retrospective looking at the career of David Fincher with lots of dumb impressions, discussions on the colour yellow and a general love for Fincher's work. 

The final look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe for 2023 is a look back at Captain Marvel but to be honest, there isn't a whole lot say as will be reflected in this episode's length.

Despite another delay, the show continues with a look at Martin Scorsese's career overall but with a few major pitstops at his most iconic work with discussions devolving into impressions and complaints about film length.

After a severe delay, the podcast is back with the conclusion on Edgar Wright's filmography and as was implied in the last episode, there are much bigger clashes this time around. 

The show is looking through another director's filmography this year with a retrospective look at Edgar Wright's career covering his first 4 films with our opinions on these films as well as what our favourite one is, a discussion on what is the best film ever and some great jokes. 

After another hiatus, the show has returned this time with a look at Adam McKay's The Big Short. Besides discussing the film, we talk about the man's career as well as some political issues.

A long anticipated episode (at least for us) on this podcast with a look at Bullet Train. Not just a normal look though, a full on commentary and live reaction to the film with some arguably questionable jokes throughout. 

Apologies for a shorter episode this week (we've got some interesting stuff in the works currently on the film The Meg in anticipation? of its sequel which releases this week. Honestly, we just spend most of this episode complaining, so if you're a fan of complaining, this is the one for you.

We get to the finale of the Nolan retrospective with discussions on Interstellar, Dunkirk and Tenet as well as Oppenheimer, Barbie and the general Letterboxd community.   There were some slight audio issues so some of the editing may seem a bit choppy.

Better late than never, right?   Apologies for the lateness again but we move on to the next part of Nolan's career which is generally very positive until it isn't. Beyond Nolan, we discuss IMDB, Batman and nudity somehow. 

After being sick for a few days, I was able to finish editing this week's episode with a look at Christopher Nolan's filmography with pitstops at his first four films as well as a discussions on low budget filmmaking, film people in general and the superhero origin film.

A smaller film this week before the show gets into a massive retrospective look at a certain filmmaker's filmography, with a look at (500) Days of Summer with discussions not just on the film but also on relationships, love and the worst parts of ourselves.

A couple of weeks after doing Spider-Man, the show is back with another episode looking at a seminal film franchise in Indiana Jones with a special quiz at the end and the first episode with intro music.

Slightly late but still here with the second part of the Spider-Man films. The discussion goes to some interesting places including some controversial takes on the Holland films, slightly less but still controversial take on Spider-Verse and the Spider-Verse sequel.

The show is back with another look at superheroes this time with the first half of a retrospective looking at the first 5 live action Spider-Man films.

This week's episode is looking back at a classic trilogy of cinema with Back to the Future with discussions on the film, changing actors and the quality of Pepsi and Coke.

Delving into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time in 2023 with, what is arguably, the most beloved sub-franchise in the MCU with a discussion on Guardians of the Galaxy and sequels. 

After some technical screwups last week, the show is back but delayed again unfortunately. Regardless, we're back doing episodes again and looking at a massive franchise in anticipation of the release of Evil Dead Rise by looking at, well the Evil Dead franchise.

After a slight hiatus, the podcast is back with a look at Ari Aster's filmography in anticipation of his upcoming release, Beau Is Afraid.   Apologies for the slight delay on the release. It wasn't uploading to the hosting site so it wasn't able to be released yet.

A bit of a controversial episode this week as we look back on the Best Picture winner that has be somewhat been re-evaluated in recent years, Forrest Gump. 

Tying into the release for John Wick: Chapter 4 this week, we delve into the John Wick franchise but we spend about half of the episode discussing films that aren't even relevant to the discussion. 

This was an episode that I had planned to do with my dad but circumstances got in the way so this is now a tribute episode for him where we look at Pleasantville. Apologies for some slight technical difficulties.
