Psalm 30 ultimately points us to Jesus, who entered into our suffering, bore our shame, and stood in the place of the judgment and discipline we deserved. Where David experienced deliverance from the consequences of sin and brokenness, Psalm 30 ultimately finds its fullest meaning in Christ, who bridges the great chasm between humanity and God through his sacrifice.

The normal human tendency to compare our lives to others can actually disorient us to such an extent that we can question the goodness of God. Yet in the presence of God, He reveals a new perspective for His people about their future and reminds us that He is our ultimate good and satisfaction.

What is your response when you find yourself in trouble? In Psalm 11 we see that a believer can either falter in their faith or take refuge in a God of compassion and justice.

When evil seems to have the upper hand, how do we react? We need God’s presence and His protection but we also want His justice! Ultimately, we trust in what is true of God and us.

Is worship primarily the singing of songs or some kind of emotional response to something? What does it look like to worship God the way that he desires? In Psalm 138 we get to see a picture of healthy, God-glorying worship that has been strengthened through repeated habit, deep reflection and future anticipation.

This life is rigged. It only works God’s way. Follow His path and you will experience blessing, peace, joy and fulfillment. Follow the world and you will experience frustration, conflict and failure. Maybe not immediately, but eventually. Your choices, both small and large, will matter today and for eternity. So which way will you choose?

Revelation 1 reminds us that we can always have hope in a world of fear, anxiousness and trouble. This passage reminds us that, in Christ, God gives us a new identity, reveals his power over death and that he controls the end of the story. In Christ, we can live with hope.

Encountering Jesus changes us. He redeems our past and our present, and He redirects our future. Encountering Jesus forever changes who we are and how we live our lives!

Pressure is inevitable in a broken world, but it doesn’t have to define or derail our faith. In Paul's final letter he shows Timothy that a steady, resilient faith isn’t only possible; it’s something God can form in us in the middle of the pressures we face.

Failure. We've all experienced it. How does Jesus respond to it? In John 21 we get a clear answer to that question, and the answer might surprise us. Instead of distance and disappointment we find Jesus with hope as He pursues, restores and invites.

Doubt doesn’t have to be fatal to our faith. Jesus loves sincere doubters, and He can even use our doubts to strengthen our faith. When we acknowledge our questions and sincerely seek the truth, we can find even deeper trust in Jesus and deeper devotion to Jesus on the other side of our doubt.

We can’t live without hope. But sometimes we place our hope in the wrong place or with the wrong people, and then we become disappointed, disillusioned, depressed, angry. But hope placed in the resurrection of Jesus and His future return to set all things right will never disappoint us. Where are you placing your hope today?

Today, we’re studying Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus, in which He describes the effects of being spiritually reborn.

What the world calls waste, Jesus calls worship. The lesson we learn from the example of Mary is that Jesus is worthy of unrestrained worship. Followers of Jesus, don’t hold anything back!

While work is a good thing, our attention must remain on Jesus and his words rather than ourselves and our work. We always have more to receive from Him than we have to offer to Him.

When we entrust our lives – now and forever – into the care of Jesus, we experience faith that conquers all fear. And we have hope that transcends all the sorrows of this broken world. Are you believing in Jesus for life today?

We can’t earn eternal life, but our loyalty to our Savior will be richly rewarded.

We are all born broken and blind. If we accept our condition, then Jesus can heal us and give us sight. If we reject this reality, we remain in our blindness. Do you know that, apart from Jesus, you are broken and blind?

Life is dangerous! How do we navigate the dangers of life without becoming emotionally overwhelmed, crushed, paralyzed by fear or anxiety? By learning, believing and living the reality of who Jesus is. He is stronger than all things seen and unseen, and He desires to deliver us.

Follow Me! That command from Jesus doesn’t apply only to the early disciples, but to each and every one of us, each and every day. To follow Jesus means that we relinquish control over our lives because we trust that His way is best.
