Shame is a centerpiece of the Mormon church. It is taught and it is taught young. Children are indoctrinated and programmed to shame and humiliate other children when they step out of line, so they can grow into adults who do the same. This is another cult control tactic that keeps members "behaving" and most importantly, PAYING TITHING.

Mormon church leadership discourages any reading outside of church-approved literature. Any critical thought is disparaged, and members are encouraged to turn their brains off.

When confined within the culture of the Mormon church, so much of life is unavailable to you. So much of life is...beige. Now that Kate has left the church, there is so much more she can enjoy. Now she lives her life in vibrant color, unshackled from the tedious rules and control tactics of the church.

Many people have heard that Mormons won't drink caffeine. This is untrue. Mormons will GUZZLE caffeine. As long as it's not HOT caffeine, because their "health" doctrine instructs, "No hot drinks." So they will down a Mountain Dew but eschew green tea. HOWEVER, they wouldn't drink a COLD (NOT HOT) green tea, for unknown reasons, and they WILL drink HOT cocoa. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

The Mormon church is the best business model ever. Not only does this organization use cult tactics to coerce members out of their hard-earned cash, but in order for this coercion to work, the church needs to strip members of their self-worth and their ability to think critically.  It is robbery in service to this 10% tithing. And everything is singularly focused to this end.
