Stay in your lane! 20.12.2020 15:50
I now have my UAV Pilot license from the FAA. Because I didn’t stay in my lane. Have you ever been told that—to stay in your lane? Or even pick one? 🚁 One of the best pieces of advice to NOT listen to is “stay in your lane.”  If I stayed in my lane I wouldn’t have written six books—especially the two fiction.  I wouldn’t have narrated, I wouldn...
Seventh Day – watching a frozen lake 20.12.2020 2:45
More birds. And it’s too cold for this. Go to this google maps location she said. More presents awaits she said. But this is Wisconsin.
Sixth Day – farm invitation 19.12.2020 1:26
Ok, so I was wrong about the birds being over. And this didn’t end in a triumphant engagement with five other parties in some sort of … arrangement. So, we’re back to birds. But this time I don’t have to keep them. I just have to watch them.
Fifth Day – no more birds! 18.12.2020 1:13
I thought I was engaged. But if I am then there are four other parties involved, because there are four too many rings. At least there are no more birds. I have to say this is the most sensible of all of the gifts so far. Five days of gifts. I’m assuming there is some great meaning to receiving a tree, some birds and then finishing it up with rings. OK, pretty clever. Let me know if you know...
Fourth Day 17.12.2020 1:16
I gi ve up. It’s not even funny. And I thought bird smell was the worst part. Nope, not when you are given birds when are genetically engineered to be really loud. And you know, these also look like chickens, but if the chickens were wearing a bib or something. i don’t know, i haven’t gotten close enough to look carefully. They are in a cage with a towel over it.
Third Day 16.12.2020 1:13
More birds. Forget about the fact that she knows that I would never have a bird as a pet, I just got three chickens. Seriously, that’s what they are: chickens . This one had a note about being caught up now, and that there are more deliveries. So I’m getting another one tomorrow. Four gifts is pretty cool, but not when most of them are birds.
Second Day 15.12.2020 1:20
I’m receiving gifts from my girlfriend. Apparently she has no idea what I like. And they are odd. So the last gift was supposed to be a couple days ago, and this one was supposed to be yesterday. The shipping/arranging has been off due to the various mandates and lockdowns and things. Apparently. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that I got more birds. Did I mention I do not like birds...
First Day 15.12.2020 1:39
I’m receiving gifts from my girlfriend. Apparently she has no idea what I like. And they are odd. I’m not a fan of birds as pets. Sorry.
Balance and the Holidays – 2020 22.11.2020 10:43
The holidays can be a wonderfully unbalanced time of year.  According to Pew Research Center 90% of Americans celebrate Christmas , with about the same celebrating Thanksgiving.  Don’t forget New Years too.   If you’re not in that group you can still learn from what I’m about to say, as it applies to any gatherings of a seasonal nature. The aforementioned holidays...
Passion is for fakers 15.11.2020 12:12
Passion is for posers That has a better ring to it. You’re told to have passion—and we have covered this in the past in the passion podcast. But today we’re going to talk about two aspects of it that you may not be aware of. You already know that you shouldn’t beat yourself up if you don’t appear to have one… but do you know about the dangers of people who say they do...
Layers: What’s between you and what you do? 08.11.2020 14:06
Layers Regardless of what you do for a living, there are things between your effort and your final product, or your customer. The more layers, the more things you have to overcome. Organization, physical location, technology, time and even language are all layers. And some of those have sub-layers. Being a yoga teacher, a speaker, an author, a financial analyst—they all have layers. In fact, you m...
Beware Plateaus 01.11.2020 12:00
Beware of plateaus A  plateau  is a flat, elevated landform that rises sharply above the surrounding area on at least one side.  Plateaus  occur on every continent and take up a third of the Earth’s land. They are one of the four major landforms, along with mountains, plains, and hills. Annnnd , none of that is related to this podcast. Except in the form of a metaphor . L...
Patience is…nope. 25.10.2020 12:11
Patience is a virtue. Is it? What is patience? Well, as always, it’s not what you think. If that’s true, then what does it mean to be impatient ? Have you ever been impatient? Of course you have. have you ever been accused of being chronically impatient? If so, it’s not a problem with your patience, but something else. Impatience is the outcome of improper data, and can be used t...
Flying Pants 11.10.2020 12:15
Do you fly by the seat of your pants? Do you know someone who does? How does that work for you? Do you know what that means, especially in the context of… wait for it… Time, Energy and Resources …? Everyone in business, and everyone who has ever tried to accomplish a goal, or self-improvement knows all about planning, and writing down goals. But, how does that affect the rest of...
Deeds not words 06.09.2020 8:58
Are you angry? Can I make you angry so you’ll react? Can I suggest something that will make you afraid? Well then I’m an excellent marketer, because those are the two most powerful elements of marketing—fear and anger. And it’s being used on you constantly by those that want you do buy things, and step in line for their desires. Listen in on what’s happening, and what is re...
Mindset was a dirty word-until now 16.08.2020 10:20
I really don’t like the word “mindset.” Why? Because it is overused so much to explain EVERYTHING, and then usually accompanied by someone swearing at you because that’s the in thing now with motivational people… But I have a way for you to change your…. ugh… ok, mindset, that may completely change how you deal with something that might be a struggle: your...
Reading vs. writing 26.07.2020 10:43
If you don’t have the time to read , you don’t have the time or the tools to write. – Stephen King I beg to differ. Skills, skill sets, time, energy and resources Reading and writing are two separate skill sets. Life is made of time energy and resources and the energy it takes to read is different than the energy it takes to write. Reading a bunch of crappy novels does not...
The Sword and the Sunflower audiobook excerpt 12.07.2020 6:59
Taking a break from handling your Time, Energy and Resources this week, I thought it might be a nice escape to listen to the first chapter of The Sword and the Sunflower . This is a just-recorded audio book entry of the first chapter. This is experimental as I have mixed thoughts about recording the audiobook for my own fiction. Recording for one of my non-fictions makes sense as it is similar to...
Superman Syndrome 05.07.2020 10:33
What’s your super power? Don’t answer that, since you don’t have one . If you think you really have one, contact me. I want to be the one person who breaks the story of The Guy Who Can Turn Invisible or The Woman Who Can Run Seven Times Faster Than Any Other Human. That would be so very cool. So, that’s not what we are talking about. You’re welcome to imagine that you...

Is your filter broken? 14.06.2020 9:53
In my podcast called resilience is a system of your own personal resilience to things in your life comes from a web work of other people. You can’t really do it alone. I envision it as a web because it stretches and pulls back and forth and when things stretch in one direction your friends and family stretch it in other directions—thus keeping things balanced. There’s another version of that-th...
Implementation 31.05.2020 11:57
The I Word People approach me all the time and say what if you did this? What… you did that ? Everyone has great ideas. Everyone has crazy ideas. Everyone has interesting ideas. It’s easy to come up with a dozen or so half-baked ideas. We do it all the time—especially when alcohol (or even coffee) is involved. But so what? Having ideas doesn’t make someone point at a thing and say R...
Strange things are a foot…ball 17.05.2020 5:41
Strange things are a foot in these strange times. if you like a good mystery (and are tired of all the instructional podcasts) then this is for you. If you are a regular subscriber then you will notice a deviation from the normal podcasts. Perhaps it is because like so many things that were ruined because of the lockdown, April 1st also suffered. Everyone pretty much ignored it. Or perhaps it is b...

Ask the next question 19.04.2020 9:20
You are most certainly a curious person if you listen to this podcast (and others like it). It puts you in the minority of people, because contrary to your perception not everyone is like you. Sure, there are a lot of smart, and applied, and learned people out there. But are they curious? You have or will find that asking questions can sometimes get you into trouble. This podcast is not about aski...
