Hi there, I'm Adam Wood. On 8 October 2025 I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, it having spread to my lymph nodes and bones. To say I was surprised is an understatement; in the previous fifteen years I'd been to the doctor twice, and never stayed overnight in hospital. I was the typical fit and healthy bloke, and had no inkling that I had prostate cancer until it was too late. In this weekly podcast I'll be sharing my experiences, from biopsies and scans, hormone therapy and side effects. In this episode I talk about Relugolix, the hormone therapy tablet which seems to be the UK norm for the initial treatment of advanced prostate cancer. I describe my experience after several weeks of being on this treatment, and details the side-effects - from increased appetite and bone pain to man boobs.
