A Sure Hope

Pastor Dave will be teaching on the story of the destruction of Jericho. He’ll be telling us about what the Israelites had to go through first before they could be victorious.

God didn’t fight the people of Jericho for Israel – they had to go and fight and defeat the people themselves. Pastor Dave will be sharing the story of Jericho, and how the Israelites had to, in obedience, take the opportunity God gave them. Just like the Israelites, we need to avail ourselves of the chances God gives us.

We know the story of God’s victory over the city of Jericho. And we know that this story can be a metaphor for obstacles in our lives that we need to let God handle. Pastor Dave will be teaching us that without God’s power, we will fail. We need to remember that true success in this life comes only through the power of God.

The story of God’s leading of Israel into Canaan is one of victories and defeats. Because we have the scriptures, we are able to see the reasons behind the defeats.
