A Sure Hope

Soon after Joshua’s death, the people of Israel began to stray from their Godly heritage. The reason is because the parents failed to teach the next generation about the things the Lord had done. God's plan for the Levites was that they be given cities and dispersed throughout Israel. God valued their influence so much that He wanted all Israel to be exposed to their dedication and ministry! All of us would like to be blessed by God. We pray for His blessings, maybe on a daily basis. But, when He calls on us to serve Him, we resist. As Pastor Dave explains in today’s message, serving God is a privilege, it should not feel like a dreaded obligation. When we serve Him joyfully, we will experience blessings.

The people of Israel missed out on God’s promises because of fear. The giants we face in life may be big. They may be scary, but, as Pastor Dave continues to lead us through the book of Joshua, we are reminded that our God is bigger. Nothing we face in this life is a match for His power.

Life can be tough sometimes. We all know that… but, as Pastor Dave reminds us in today’s message, when we think about all that God has done for us, we have reason for great joy. The harshest of circumstances suddenly won’t seem so bad when we allow Christ to shine His light and hope into them.
