A Sure Hope

It’s easy to cover up your inside. Hide your faults, sins, fears and weakness. It feels like the only way to survive. Today, Pastor Dave will encourage you to ask the Lord to reveal your heart to you. He will reveal to you things that need to change. And in his graciousness he will help you through it. It’s the only way to live a victorious life.

When you’re in a tense situation, it’s so easy to rely on people to help you through it. However, as Pastor Dave teaches today, when you put your hope in a person, you’ll always be disappointed. Only the Lord is faithful, strong and reliable. Men will fail but God will not. Your only hope is in the Lord.

Sometimes your circumstances feel so dire that you may be tempted to believe God has lost control. Things seem far from what He’s promised. Yet, as Pastor Dave will teach today, God is faithful. He is sovereign and will do everything He’s promised to do. You must have faith no matter what you’re experiencing.

The reality of faith is that as soon as you believe in Jesus, you have an enemy who seeks to draw you back to him. If you believe and follow God you’re not immune to tribulation. However, as Pastor Dave will explain today, by believing in and abiding closely with Jesus, you can have His peace despite any trouble.

People will betray and hurt you in this life. It’s simply the nature of fallen man. However, as Pastor Dave will explain today, these same people may realize their fault and failure. When they turn back, seeking restoration, show mercy and forgive them. Seek peace and unity like David did when his former adversaries recognized him as king.

When life circumstances all indicate trouble or failure, it’s easy to despair. You may try harder to be a better believer in order to grow and be strengthened. Yet, as Pastor Dave will explain today, God is the one who calls you and transforms you. He’s the one with the plan for your life, you simply need to submit and follow him.

Though common in David’s culture, multiple wives was against God’s heart for marriage. David acquired wives and had sons who caused heartache and trouble for David. Today, Pastor Dave will warn against following the culture and giving in to lust and desire. Each step, however minor, away from God’s design leads you down a dark path.

It’s so tempting to rush about your life, making decisions, choosing your path. Even if you’re trying to do ministry, it’s all too easy to rush in and start working. Today, Pastor Dave will encourage you to pause. Stop and seek the Lord. Discern his will for this moment in your life. As he guides you he will empower you!

God had anointed David king of Israel during the reign of Saul. He had to wait years to claim his throne. And when it looked like it was happening, David had to patiently wait again for God’s plan to unfold. As Pastor Dave teaches today, David refused to force his reign on the people, rushing God’s plan. Like David, wait for God to unfold his plan.

As David was guided by God to restore the nation of Israel, he understood God desired his people to be united. Yet, unity is sometimes hard to come by. The Human tendency is to see a problem, rush in quickly to fix it without thought of the Lord. Yet, unless it’s the Lords plan, things don’t go well. Today, Pastor Dave will encourage you to stop and ask God what he wants first. Patiently listen and obey the steps God directs. Acknowledge the Lord in all you do and he will direct your path.

God called David to be king many years before he actually became king of Israel. In the meantime, David suffered and struggled. Yet, as Pastor Dave will explain today, times of waiting are purposeful and used by God for your good. David couldn’t rush God’s timing, but trusted in its fulfillment when God declared it time.

The nation of Israel eventually fell away from God in the time of the judges, and asked God for a King. Though God appointed Saul, the nation of Israel fell farther away during his reign. Yet, as Pastor Dave reminds you today, God longs to restore and renew his people. Through the reign of David as King, the nation will be restored.

There is a great temptation to overlook the good favor of God. If you are comfortable in life, it’s all too easy to ignore God, claim responsibility for the good and become prideful and full of sin. Today Pastor Dave will encourage you to recognize the true source of all good things and humbly trust God in all moments.

You may live your life in sin, believing the false narrative that it’s no big deal. If there are consequences, it’ll be minimal and only bother YOU. However, as Pastor Dave explains today, there are dire consequences to everyone around you because of YOUR sin. Not only are you separated from God, but others will suffer because of your sin.

When you are at the end of yourself and Jesus rescues you and restores you, the only right response is to surrender. Today, Pastor Dave will encourage you to give him your life willingly. Like David, choose to remember God and his promises. Recognize where your help truly came from and praise Him!

When you hit rock bottom in life, you realize you are the end of yourself. It’s at these moments God helps you recognize how much you need him. Do you feel you are too far away for God to ever love and forgive you again? Today Pastor Dave will remind you that Jesus gave his life for you.
