Can we really multitask effectively? While some are better than others, we often end up performing those tasks worse because we lose focus. Pastor Dave shares that this is also true when it comes to our relationship with God versus the world. And God instructs us to choose and serve Him over the world.

As Christians, both new and old; we are encouraged to spread the gospel. The best way to do that is to first know the gospel. One of the greatest ways to learn anything is to speak with people who have done it for a long time! That applies to sharing our faith as well! Learn from a master to become one yourself!

Sometimes, it’s pretty easy to feel like a “worthless” Christian. Maybe you’ll act a sinful way or even just have evil thoughts. Oftentimes, we’ll let something like that make us feel unworthy. Today, Pastor Dave reminds us that it isn’t by good works or feelings that we are saved, but by the graceful act of one person.

Deeper into this chapter, John warns the people about hypocrisy. It’s easy to trick ourselves into believing we’re keeping God’s Word while simultaneously twisting it into sinful behavior. Today, while progressing through his message; Pastor Dave will explain how to avoid this in greater detail.

In the New Testament, many people were confused and angry about the “new” rules. In this chapter, John told the citizens that what was being taught wasn’t new, and was actually almost the exact same as it was in the Old Testament. There’s no greater joy than the joy of knowing Jesus and living like Him. God makes it clear that He wants you to live like Him, set apart from the world, and live in the light. Living like Jesus should be a huge focus in your life. He died for you to have eternal life in Heaven with God, and as Pastor Dave is going to point out today, He just asks that you do God’s will and walk like Him. His Word shows you how to live, and He’s waiting for you to dig into it and start living a life that looks like Him.

People should be able to see you’re a child of God by your love for everyone around you. As you show the people you’re surrounded by the love of Jesus, it should point them to God, so they can experience the same love from Him that you have. It’s what John wanted to make clear in his letter, and Pastor Dave to you today.

Jesus showed perfect love for you by dying on a cross for your sins so you can be free from them once and for all. Today, as you look at that sacrifice with Pastor Dave, he’s going to encourage you to show other people around you love that’s unconditional, just like the love Jesus showed you before when you didn’t deserve it.

The penalty for sin is death and separation from God. But, Jesus came to die for your sins so you don’t have to be a slave to it or suffer from it anymore. As Pastor Dave tells you about Jesus’ sacrifice for you, you’ll get to be encouraged to walk in the light of God’s Word, and experience the joy that comes from it.

When you give your life to Jesus, He wants you to give up your old ways of sin to follow His ways. Pastor Dave is going to show you today that Jesus didn’t die for you to continue sinning as you used to before Jesus. He wants you to live a holy life, set apart from the world, focused on knowing Him more each day.
