A Sure Hope

God honors humble, repentant hearts. Even in David’s time, God’s forgiveness depended on His grace – the sacrifices were just placeholders for the coming Christ. Think of a memorable church camp when you were younger. Or maybe a meaningful retreat with your church. These experiences leave their mark – in a good way. In our world, you can’t turn your head without seeing another ad telling you what you’re missing. The marketing industry is centered around convincing you that you need more of something. God knows your heart. He knows when your giving comes from a grateful, humble heart, and He also knows when you’re holding back and only giving with a desire for the admiration of others. Today, Pastor Dave will remind us that God doesn’t care about how much we give as much as He cares about why we offer.

When God says no to a dream, a deep desire in your heart that you believe is for God? Today, Pastor Dave will encourage you to remember all of God’s blessings instead, continue to seek after Him, and trust Him. He may say no to something good, but it leads to something even better!

What is your next step when you get an idea that seems godly and biblical and weighs heavy on your heart? Today, Pastor Dave will encourage you to first seek the Lord in prayer. Ask Him if this is what you should be doing. Ask Him to guide and direct you as you trust and follow His will. And then follow Him as He leads!

The good things God has done for His people can never be listed; there are just too many blessings to count. And today, Pastor Dave will describe the beautiful privilege and responsibility God’s people have to thank Him for His goodness. Tell everyone about what God has done! There’s always something to praise Him for!

It can be all too easy to doubt God and His goodness when you’re going through a trial. But, as Pastor Dave teaches today, when you frequently remember His goodness and rehearse His promises and faithfulness, you will be at peace in your situation. So, think of all God has done in your life, and praise Him for it!

People will often try to reach God by doing good things and checking off all the religious boxes. Yet, as Pastor Dave teaches today, you can only come to God through faith. There is no other way to earn your way to Him and to Heaven. You must trust in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. He’s the way!

Most people really long for peace and deep joy. And in our world, both feel like they’re in short supply and hard to find! Yet, as Pastor Dave teaches today, you can only experience true peace or joy through faith in God. He gives you both as you draw closer to Him, and trust Him with your life!
