A Little Less Lonely w/ Nate Postlethwait

Health EN ↓ 11 episodes

I have spent 30+ years healing from stories that molded me to live a life I didn’t want. A few years ago, I left a 70-hour work week, sold everything, and started writing and sharing my experience of addressing childhood trauma and mental health. That process grew into a powerful community of other survivors whose stories are finally being told. This space is for them.

Episode 11: Max | Belonging & Adoption Trauma 08.07.2026

When I was introduced to Max I was not prepared to hear his story. The more we chatted over coffee, and the more details he shared, the more I could barely take it in. He smiles, a big smile, and says, "You should write about this." So, I did. Then, I had him come along and share the story. Please leave Max comments below expressing your gratitude and support. We will make sure he sees a...

Make sure to stay tuned for the tributes at the end! Yolanda's book, Attuned & Attached, i...

Guilt: Survivors POV (Ep. 6) 14.10.2025

Welcome back!  This episode had many parallels to our last episode on surviving estrangement. This weeks story covers the complexity of guilt (or perceived guilt) for choosing to heal. We do a deeper dive into how someone can feel guilt when they've made decisions that honor their mind, body, and soul. It's certainly complex. Let us know in the comments if you relate to this story... If...

Surviving Estrangement (Ep.5) 01.10.2025

Welcome back everyone.  Today, we are doing a deep dive into estrangement. I have found this topic to be widely relatable yet heavily shamed among trauma survivors. As you listen along, pay attention to your response to the different messages you may have heard that invited in further shame around you being estranged. That part of you may need some TLC from you-well deserved. Have a question you w...

The Mother Wound | Breaking the Cycle (Ep.4) 14.09.2025

This is the first story we are covering that was submitted from someone in my online group.  It’s a tough one, but a topic that I know is relatable to many people-the mother wound. Pay close attention to the process.  There are many layers to this type of healing, but hopefully you hear something that helps you find context for something in your life too.  If you would like to submit your story to...

Timeline of Healing: Milestones & Conscious Thought (Ep.3) 07.09.2025

In this episode I wrap up my story with some of the incredible  milestones my healing process has offered me. From working through years of EMDR therapy, to meeting a stranger while volunteering, this is how specific words, and actions can bring a person healing.  Next week we are sharing our FIRST story from one of you! We have a soon-to-be first-time mom working through the complex pain from the...

The Truth About Conversion Therapy (Ep. 2) 31.08.2025

There have been few stories told about conversion therapy from the survivors perspective. In this episode I share my history of going through conversion therapy, and how they ran the organization.  This story highlights the obsession with the abuser-centered society: The stories centering around the people who hurt others, rather than the survivors.  If you are a trauma survivor, listen closely at...

Why I’m Starting This Now (Ep. 1) 24.08.2025

In the first episode of A Little Less Lonely , Nate Postlethwait shares the personal journey that led him to create this space. From childhood in a strict religious environment, to coming out, navigating cPTSD, and building a survivor focused community, Nate reflects on the power of telling our stories, and hearing others reflect them back. If you’ve ever felt out of place or unseen, we hope you w...
