Episodes

Return of the Living Dead 2 06.03.2019

Have a listen to see what we thought of this 80's horror comedy, and whether it stacks up to the original.

Poltergeist II: The Other Side 26.02.2019

Not quite as good as the original, but waaay better than Poultrygeist, if you must know.

Exorcist II: The Heretic 21.02.2019

It's what you get when a director who was never enthusiastic about the original tries to take the material in an entirely different direction. We had a lot to say about this mess of a movie, and some of it may surprise you. Give it a listen!

The Fly 2 12.02.2019

February is our Month of Sequels again this year. We already did the David Cronenberg version of The Fly and gave it high marks, so we thought we'd give the sequel a spin.

Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2 29.01.2019

We enjoying chatting about this odd little movie that should make a bit more sense than it does. The spirit of a dead prom queen haunts and possesses poor Vanessa to avenge her death...or something.

Tremors 23.01.2019

This 1950s-style monster movie from the 90's was such a staple of our childhoods that we were reluctant to tackle it for so long because we are both so familiar with it. But in the end we were happy to revisit it in all its B-movie glory. Thanks again for the request!

The Purge 16.01.2019

Kicking off Request Month is this request from long-time listener, Karthik. We enjoyed having a rare political discussion (don't worry folks, we don't get too deep) and dissecting this film that made bank at the box office and spawned a few sequels and a TV show. Thanks for the request, and if you have any more, please let us know!

Bloody New Year 01.01.2019

Sure wish we could've brought you a better New Year's themed horror film this week, but we're scraping the bottom of the barrel here. If anyone has any better ideas, let us know and we'll put it on the list for next year!

Christmas Shorts 25.12.2018

All the shorts in this episode are linked from our website at http://2guys.red40.net. Otherwise, Google is your friend!

Jack Frost 18.12.2018

Todd thought it was funny. Craig thought it was stupid. Listen to find out why and laugh along with us at the ridiculous snowman puppet and corny one-liners.

Red Christmas 10.12.2018

Does this movie have an anti-abortion agenda? It sure seems like it, but it's impossible to tell for sure. Which is only one of the reasons why it's so maddening.

Night of the Comet 03.12.2018

More of a horror-comedy than straight horror, this quirky 80's throwback took us both by surprise. Two Valley Girls try to adapt to a world without boys and the typical teenage fascinations when a comet passes by the earth and obliterates humanity, turning many of the few survivors into zombie-type creatures.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors 01.12.2018

We started this podcast with the Wes Craven film The People Under the Stairs, and so we tackled one of our favorite Freddy Krueger films, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors. This iconic entry in the franchise set the stage for a series of successful sequels and is responsible for cementing Freddy Krueger into the pop culture forever. It may not have aged particularly well, but we had...

Thanksgiving Special: Blood Rage 20.11.2018

Happy Thanksgiving, Americans! We're happy to treat to you this long-lost slasher film with all the trimmings: cheesy 80's music, hilarious over-the-top gore effects, laughable acting, and ridiculous writing. Whip it out to wake up your relatives during the post-turkey food coma phase of your celebration. Just remember, everyone: That isn't cranberry sauce!

Dolls 13.11.2018

Stuart Gordon sure has the market cornered on killer doll movies. This more or less kicked off a line of low-budget features in the same vein that would sit on video shelves for decades.

Burnt Offerings 06.11.2018

We varied a bit on our final assessment of this admittedly classic haunted house story, starring the incomparable Karen Black and Bette Davis. But you'll want to listen primarily to hear Greg gush over Bette Davis.

31 31.10.2018

Happy Halloween! We end our series with the latest from Rob Zombie, aptly titled "31".

Trick or Treats 29.10.2018

Part four of our Halloween extravaganza was a fun episode to record. That doesn't necessarily mean the movie was fun. Listen for some laughs, but stick around for some fascinating movie history surrounding the director of this otherwise laughable cinematic attempt.

The Midnight Hour 19.10.2018

This made-for-TV movie event from the 80's starred some well-known faces, but it hasn't remained well-known. You probably missed it when it first aired, and it enjoyed an extremely short release on home video and DVD that you probably missed too. But don't miss our discussion about this film that, despite its many flaws, had some good moments and didn't fail to put us in the Halloween spirit.

Hellbent 09.10.2018

Despite being billed as "the first gay slasher film," not many people have heard of this 2004 micro-budget indie movie. It did not receive a wide release, but it's now available for streaming online, 14 years later, and we both concluded that it is definitely worth a watch. Listen here for our analysis

Dead and Buried 02.10.2018

Studio interference probably kept this movie from becoming great. Our verdict? Listen to our first episode this Halloween season to find out!

Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead 24.09.2018

Todd was thrilled to finally introduce Craig to the official Troma catalog, and he selected one of their most recent horror-comedy-musicals that more or less accurately represents the notorious low-budget movie house's wacky, no-holds-barred, punk sensibilities. What did Craig think of it? Have a listen to find out.

Invaders From Mars 12.09.2018

We love to do kid-oriented horror movies, and this week we turn once again to Tobe Hooper's oeuvre for this modern update of the 1953 B-movie classic. It's not the best, but it's not the worst. Come join us for an in-depth review.

Jeepers Creepers 3 04.09.2018

Jeepers Creepers 3 sprung on us suddenly last year, seemingly out of nowhere. With a limited release in theaters for one day only, and an almost immediate release on VOD, we had high hopes for this film, based on the previous two. Sadly, we had to join the chorus of mixed reviews. But admittedly, it's complicated.  Major thanks to the many people who requested this one as we wrap up request month!

Dead Snow 2: Red Vs Dead 01.09.2018

Normally we would wait until winter time to review a film about Nazi snow zombies, but we got several requests for this one. So we decided to throw it up during request month. And we both agree that this one is even better than the original.
