Episodes

Witchboard 20.09.2019

We always have fun on our show, but this week we had maybe even a little more fun than usual with this 80's cheesefest. Listen carefully for Craig's big reveal.

Curtains 10.09.2019

Curtains.

Cube 04.09.2019

It's a late 90's, low-budget Canadian flick that spawned a franchise. There are more than 2 sides to this story...6, to be exact.

IT: Chapter One (2017) 27.08.2019

The second part to the story is set to release next week, a scant 29 years after the original miniseries scared our kid pants off. You may remember we did a two-part series of podcasts over that series and Tim Curry's legendary performance as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. We reference that project AND the book, of which all three of us are intimately familiar...but maybe not quite as familiar as Jo...

May 24.08.2019

It's not one of our wackier conversations, because this week's episode is a seriously dark characters study of a disturbed young girl, directed by Lucky McKee.

The Hitcher 08.08.2019

He passed away recently at the age of 75, but his legacy lives on in films such as Blade Runner and The Hitcher.

Interview: Linnea Quigley + Creepozoids 30.07.2019

We were honored to ask her about her experiences working on the low-budget horror features of the 80s and 90s, as well as her work with her personal passions such as animal rescue. Special thanks to Ms. Quigley for taking time out of her busy schedule to join us today! Also, we talked about Creepozoids.

The Deadly Spawn 17.07.2019

This homage to B-Movie sci-fi films of the 50s becomes the very definition of a "creature feature": An entire film centered gratuitously around a big, ugly monster and little else.

There's Nothing Out There 10.07.2019

There's Nothing Out There is an amateurish 80's movie that nevertheless was, in some ways, ahead of its time. But there's a lot of heart here, and some genuinely fun and funny moments. Directed by a 20 year-old from a script he wrote as a teenager, this week's movie was fun to watch and discuss.

Bone Tomahawk 02.07.2019

We were told this was a horror movie, although it's at least 70% straight Western. Which doesn't mean we didn't enjoy it. On the contrary, the star-studded cast and excellent writing made this a good watch and fine discussion.

Death House 25.06.2019

We didn't have a lot of good things to say about this disappointing outing, based on a script from the late Gunnar Hansen (Leatherface). A rousing game of "spot the celebrity" helps to pass the time, even as you consider what a waste it is to assemble so many horror icons for this nonsense.

The Wicker Man 18.06.2019

Come with us as we unlock this puzzle of a film and talk about its storied history as Christopher Lee's most favorite performance of all time.

Popcorn 11.06.2019

The movies within a movie make THIS movie a joy to watch. More than anything, we want to attend the horror-sci-fi movie marathon that is the centerpiece of this film. We just don't want to die in the process.

Hellraiser 04.06.2019

We're twisting our puzzle box to unlock Clive Barker's directorial debut about a twisted group of people summoning a twisted group of demons to do some seriously twisted things.

The Taking of Deborah Logan 28.05.2019

Even though it's a found-footage movie, even Todd found something to like about it.

The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires 21.05.2019

This was Hammer's last Dracula film in their series, and it's easy to see why.

The Changeling 14.05.2019

George C. Scott plays a composer stumbling his way, puzzled, through a haunted house. SUPPOSEDLY based on a true story, but don't you believe it (says Todd). Thank you, Vincent, for your request!

Mother's Day (1980) 07.05.2019

We expected to hate this movie but were pleasantly surprised. Listen as we fall all over each other to offer some guarded and highly qualified opinions for this overlooked - but notorious - classic.

The Toxic Avenger 23.04.2019

Todd was anxious to subject Craig to another Troma film - one that goes to the heart of the studio, first introducing its most infamous icon.

The Stuff 16.04.2019

An unknown mutant ice cream/yogurt/whipped cream concoction bubbles out of the ground and makes people crazy, but that doesn't stop a company from packaging it up and making it into the hottest item of the century.

Critters 09.04.2019

There has been a small flurry lately of Critters-related activity, so we thought it was high time to review this relic from the 80's.

Bill Oberst Jr. Interview: Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies 02.04.2019

Bill Oberst Jr. is an Emmy Award-winning, mega-prolific actor in the horror genre who has amassed nearly 200 roles in just 10 short years. His down-to-earth and honest persona contrasts sharply with the killers he usually plays (when he's not playing, say, a talking dog), and we enjoyed some deeper conversation than usual about what it means to make and watch horror films. Oh yeah, and we talked a...

Zombeavers 26.03.2019

And what a ride it is. We found more charm here than your average , thanks to some excellent writing, great cinematography, and the decision to "keep it real" on the...um...beaver effects.

Hereditary 19.03.2019

This week's request comes from Joseph - last year's breakout horror hit, Hereditary. It boasts a stellar cast and, in its own way, brings Rosemary's Baby into the 21st century. Thanks again for the request!

The Lair of the White Worm 12.03.2019

Is it self-aware satire or just a cheesy failure? Is it horror or comedy? There's a lot to unpack here in this surprisingly fun film. Thank you, Robin, for suggesting it!
