It's a late 90's, low-budget Canadian flick that spawned a franchise. There are more than 2 sides to this story...6, to be exact.

It's not one of our wackier conversations, because this week's episode is a seriously dark characters study of a disturbed young girl, directed by Lucky McKee.

He passed away recently at the age of 75, but his legacy lives on in films such as Blade Runner and The Hitcher.

We were honored to ask her about her experiences working on the low-budget horror features of the 80s and 90s, as well as her work with her personal passions such as animal rescue. This homage to B-Movie sci-fi films of the 50s becomes the very definition of a "creature feature": An entire film centered gratuitously around a big, ugly monster and little else.

There's Nothing Out There is an amateurish 80's movie that nevertheless was, in some ways, ahead of its time. But there's a lot of heart here, and some genuinely fun and funny moments. Directed by a 20 year-old from a script he wrote as a teenager, this week's movie was fun to watch and discuss.

We were told this was a horror movie, although it's at least 70% straight Western. Which doesn't mean we didn't enjoy it. On the contrary, the star-studded cast and excellent writing made this a good watch and fine discussion.

We didn't have a lot of good things to say about this disappointing outing, based on a script from the late Gunnar Hansen (Leatherface). A rousing game of "spot the celebrity" helps to pass the time, even as you consider what a waste it is to assemble so many horror icons for this nonsense.

The movies within a movie make THIS movie a joy to watch. More than anything, we want to attend the horror-sci-fi movie marathon that is the centerpiece of this film. We just don't want to die in the process.

Even though it's a found-footage movie, even Todd found something to like about it.

And what a ride it is. We found more charm here than your average , thanks to some excellent writing, great cinematography, and the decision to "keep it real" on the...um...beaver effects.
