It's so easy to be dragged down by the pain, darkness, and unbelief of the world. When that happens, we've been overcome by evil. But God calls us to overcome evil with good. What's that look like? Sometimes one-liners stick with you. I still remember a simple, almost off-hand comment a speaker made over 40 years ago: "It's hard not to get along with a humble person." I've had my share of conflicts through the years, and when I do, I try to step back and ask if the point of conflict is legitimate or if I'm just being proud. Join me for today's Daily Word & P...

The Bible is filled with people who did mighty exploits by the power of God. David took down the giant, Moses led Israel through the Red Sea, Elijah called down fire from heaven, and Jesus and His apostles performed miracles of healing. It's obvious they couldn't have done these things without God. But Jesus didn't say, "Apart from Me you can't do miracles." He said,...

Jesus Christ is the most humble man to ever walk the earth. Most people would acknowledge Jesus' humility based on His treatment of the lowest of the low in society. But there are others who have demonstrated similar humility by treating the world's outcasts with love and dignity.  However Jesus humbled Himself in a way no one else ever has: Although He existed in the very form of God, H...

Did you know that God, as presented in the Bible, is humble?
