I don’t believe that the only way to lead a nation or a community is through radicalism or strictly militant methods. Sometimes subtlety is just as effective as an overarching display of protest. Raising our families properly as black men and women is just as effective and just as positive for our overall health as a people as anything else, maybe even more.

Music, Painting, Podcasts, etc. It's hard to cut through all of the noise but my philosophy is that the noise is what gives value to the masterpieces. As a community, black people's priorities have long been misplaced. We worship things that are detrimental to us and talk down about upstanding men and women and label them as "corny". We must change our heroes.

"The quality of our service to others determines the kind of life you'll live" was a quote given to me by my father. I don't know it's origins, but it inspired me nonetheless. Moment of silence for the foreword: Less than 24 hours after recording this episode I had a pretty realistic dream. In the dream I watched my first born son die in my arms. I have an idea of what might've caused the dream but I'm not sure. More things are in our control than we think there are. The reality is we have the ability to change a lot of our circumstances but we simply choose not to. That's something I had to learn over time and take risks to try.
