The Screen Queen

Send us Fan Mail The only thing I believed about Exorcist: Believer was that I didn't believe it be better than Exorcist Three. Exorcist 3 or Legion as it's also called. You can call it anything you want, but I call it awesome. I loved this film for being a different kind of possession movie while being a better follow-up to the most terrifying film ever made. On this season finale of th...

Send us Fan Mail If you were to tell me that I would love a film with a former Twilight star, I would have thought you were lying your ass off. Now that I've seen the film, I don't know what I would have done without this film. The Lighthouse has become one of my favorite films in recent years, and I'm glad this was shown to me. Unusual doesn't even come close to the definition...

Send us Fan Mail There's something strange happening in Gravity Falls, and people haven't been able to get enough of it for ten years now. Alex Hirsch gave Disney a fresh new spin on TV that had thrills, chills, and grappling hooks. The show has aged remarkably despite the initial rough run that it had. It's the second episode of the Halloween series, find out what makes this show S...

Send us Fan Mail There's SomeTHING about this movie. The Thing has always been a film I heard about being a tremendous alien film...however, your screen queen found out it took time for the flowers to be given to this film. In this episode I'm diving into the scares that care, the unseen heroes of this horror film...and a little mouse movie that has an odd connection to this film. EDIT 8...

Send us Fan Mail In my entire existence being a film buff, I've seen some movies I like---some I loved---and some I had to be a little gentle to in order to be a fair reviewer. But these films just didn't do it for me. When I say I regret watching a film, I don't use that word loosely.  It's fun to talk about movies...but roasting movies is something I don't get to do ofte...

Send us Fan Mail This is more than just a trashy movie...well it is. I forgot how much I enjoyed this movie and it had aged in a way that almost felt too much but stayed within the cusp of comedy. There's something about this film and the way it played with dark humor in the best ways. In terms of trashy movies, this one is definitely a treasure for me. Part 1: Introductions! Part 2: My old l...

Send us Fan Mail Podcaster Maketh Podcast. I was in Movie Stop while my mom and I shopped around for some inexpensive splurge purchases and I just happened to look up at see what looked to be a new action movie trailer. I saw a guy wearing a hat and Colin Firth doing some action and thought, "That's interesting, why haven't I seen this trailer on TV?" I caught Kingsman years la...

Send us Fan Mail Mental health warning: Mentions of depression and self-sabotage.  A ninja anime that's not Naruto? Nabari No Ou existed in an age of anime I grew up with a teenager. I still have the books that I have read cover to cover. It's a miracle the pages are still INTACT.  It's an obscure anime that feels like a gem, but why would it be a gem? That's what I'm here...

Send us Fan Mail Oh my god, of all the anime titles to start out the anime series OF COURSE it would would have to be the movie that got me into Studio Ghibli. It is a crime to not love a film that brought us into a world of fantasy while giving a realistic take on maturity while never losing the imagination. It's my favorite Hayao Miyazaki film and I'll be dishing out the praises to add...

Send us Fan Mail Welcome back, Screen Team! I have a wonderful episode that is going to be different than my usual episodes. This episode was a challenge to see how I could be an interviewer and get some other commentators on the show---and who better than my dear friend Ann Lowe as my first guest as we cover a film that had one of the first few sociopathic kids before we had Kevin McAllister.  Ap...

Send us Fan Mail A certain trailer dropped last week about the long-awaited sequel to one of the greatest horror films ever made.  I'm not the hugest fan of The Exorcist but I have the highest respect to the film's legacy and the current director folliwing the coat tails to give us new thrills from a timeless terror tale.  Are you a fan of The Exorcist? Are you gonna watch it with a defr...

Send us Fan Mail For almost thirty years Pixar had made movies of toys overcoming judgment, fishes learning to take it easy, and superheroes working together and now we have DEATH. Who knew it took a movie about death to make you appreciate life in a way that didn't feel shoehorned? Coco is one of those spectacles that you can see once and never forget again. But what special tactics had to b...

Send us Fan Mail There is something attractive about this movie, just not attractive to rabbits that's for sure! Fatal Attraction has been remade a triple amount of times but everyone still remembers the way Glenn Close terrorized men out of the thought of ever cheating on their wives. On this week's episode of the screen queen, you'll learn the intimate details of this provocative...

Send us Fan Mail Philadelphia...the city of brotherly love and one of the most powerful LGBT movies that broke the stigma about a disease people were misinformed about. Part 2: The REAL story behind Philadelphia Part 3:  Jonathan Demme's work...

Send us Fan Mail School’s out for the summer! But let’s face it, we always wanted to be the schools of the 80s. You can’t go wrong with the classics, but Rodney Dangerfield playing a rich freshman is the kind of movie that doesn’t come around that often. There some stuff that aged well…some that just needs to stay in the 80s (I’m looking at that shower scene). On this week’s episode for the screen...

Send us Fan Mail Once Upon A Time…there was a movie buff that loved to share details of stories. Stories about how Christopher Reeve soared in Superman or who was responsible for the song from The Bodyguard. One day in 2022, she had the idea to take her love of movies and TV into a show to be listened to by all the subjects of the world…and it was about damn time!  As you all know, I am your Scree...

Send us Fan Mail Jeff Bridges…Robin Williams…Mr. Noodle? On this week’s episode for The Screen Queen, we are going into one of the most hilarious, heartbreaking, and heightening movies, The Fisher King. The guy who made Monty Python brought everything and the kitchen sink for a movie that still lives in the hearts and minds of those who watched it. It’s an unforgettable movie, but what about it ma...

Send us Fan Mail With the passing of Ray Liotta in 2022, I’ve gotten the chances to see of the legacy he left behind. I went into this film knowing if I didn’t like it, at least I got to see another Ray Liotta movie. This is a sci-fi gem that got buried in the 90s and now’s the chance to show this futuristic sci-fi Shawshank tale. How did this film work and what was the unfortunate irony that ties...

Send us Fan Mail This summer is gonna look a little…batty. Last Voyage of The Demeter is an upcoming fantasy/horror film that’s gonna take us back to an old world of gods and monsters…emphasis on the monster part. Could this be a new change to our horror movies? Are you planning on seeing the terrifying tale of the ill fated crew?   You can find me on my instagram -@thequeenofthescreen (Hit me up...

Send us Fan Mail This episode is all about the jazz to talk about the funny hunny all the way to the cell block tango to see how we both reached for the gun to razzle dazzle em’. Today on The Screen Queen, we’re diving into the first musical that divided a lot of people if musicals were a free Oscar card. Mmm…yes and no, there is a lot to discuss the history behind the music, who would have been i...

Send us Fan Mail Talking about anime live actions is like the same energy of talking about politics…until Alita Battle Angel came along and changed the way people thought about anime live action movies. But this movie was a hit…why does it feel like a miss? It had an all star cast, amazing graphics, and two well known directors that pushed this story more than the others did. What made this film s...

Send us Fan Mail Where would we be if we didn’t have Die Hard? We wouldn’t have Bruce Willis or the future action films of John McTeiernan. But this film was seen as a wild card to play for Fox Studios. There is a lot of history to this film that was originally supposed to be a sequel before it became a stand-alone film. Get that fire hose tied tight around your waist as we jump into the blockbust...

Send us Fan Mail Who knew all it took to make a smart movie was Val Kilmer and a lot of popcorn. Welcome back to the fourth episode on the screen queen where we are going back to the days of the 1980s to see a film that flew under the retro radar. What is the science for the movie and which character was the inspiration for two famous chipmunk characters?  Part 1: Intro (warning scratchy noises…so...
