We talk to documentarian Kenn Bell, who’s been a fan from the very beginning. Since you’re all smart, cultured folks, we know you’ll want to check out Kenn’s rescue dog documentary: Second Chance Dogs . Check it ou...

Buckle up and get ready to find out all the things you *missed* in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi , stupid. ::eye_roll:: We love you, West World!!

Hello there, Herders! We’ve gotten some choice comments and feedback recently, so we decided to turn over the spotlight and put them on the air. You’ve got plenty to say! So much so, in fact, that we had to break this conversation into 2 episodes. This is your show. Enjoy! Remember to hit the links below to send in your feedback; you just might hear it on a future episode! —&#821...

Welcome back, Herder faithful! The sequel trilogy is bad! It’s rushed! It’s just one more sign that Disney is ruining Star Wars. That’s what Screen Rant would have you believe, anyway. Us? We’re not so sure. Joining us in defense of our favorite franchise this time is a man who needs no introduction. Here’s the article that inspired this episode: Disney Rushed Out The...

Happy New Year, fellow Herders! A new comic has us ruminating about the true nature of the Force and who got it right all along. You know we’re softies for the the prequels, and here’s more evidence as to why: Qui-Gon Jinn is the smartest Jedi we’ve ever seen! The “age of Republic” comic sheds new light on his interpretation of the Force and the role of the Jedi in se...

Happy holidays, Nerfherders! Jon isn’t feeling too jolly this season. He keeps reading rumors about next year’s Star Wars installment and getting really upset. He’s red in the face and his belly shakes like a bowl full of jelly, but he’s no St. Nick! Join us as JT takes on JJ over the fate of the final installment in the Skywalker saga – and have a safe and happy Life...

We had a show, we really did! It was part 2 of our conversation about the Disney+ streaming service, and hoo boy, it was good! But you’re getting this show instead. Deal with it. Moving on… Despite a total lack of official information about the next Star Wars movie – or maybe because of it – the internet is awash in rumors about Episode IX. Is Luke alive? What color is Rey&...

Disney’s upcoming streaming service – now officially called Disney+ – continues to make headlines. During an earnings call earlier this month, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced a *second* Star Wars series is coming to service! Fans of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” should be happy with this one: Cassian Andor is getting his own series, and Diego Luna is set to reprise his...

One of Disney’s most controversial decisions was to create the “Legends” continuity, effectively erasing decades of Star Wars stories from the official canon. Since then, every official story told is canon: comics, books, TV, video games, YouTube, VR… anywhere! Is this a good thing, though? Maybe, maybe not! No one wants to miss something crucial buried in the pages of a bo...

It’s news dump time on NHC! Cameras and footage have been stolen from the set of “The Mandalorian”, and the internet was trolled once again by a bogus Episode IX set photo. Pinewood Studios even has armed guards watching the skies for drones! We have to ask: is this all worth it? Is our fervor for information hurting the franchise? And what constitutes a “spoiler”, an...

For all the stories told in the Star Wars universe, there are just as many or more stories that never get told. What if Boba Fett hadn’t become a Sarlacc snack? How did Maz get Luke’s lightsaber? Why does everyone get to be a general in the Rebellion? We speculate on a few of the lost plot points dropped (so far) throughout the saga! ——— NHC on Apple Podcasts NHC on G...

Gather round, Herders: we’ve officially entered the Resistance era! The latest animated entry in the Star Wars franchise is upon is, and it’s time to give our thoughts on the show’s initial episodes. TL;DR: it’s good! Not sure if there are really any spoilers in here, but just in case, don’t be weird: watch the show before you listen to this. Watching cartoons is way...

Hey there, Herders! We’ve got a brand spankin’ new animated Star Wars series tonight: “Star Wars Resistance”! We lay out our expectations for this exciting new series, and ask some tough questions – questions like “Who the &$%# are these characters?”, “Why should we care about these &#$%ing characters?”, “Da &$%# is this go...

This week’s episode continues our conversation about our first experiences watching Star Wars. Yep, we’re not done talking about it yet! This time it’s Steve’s turn to relate his time checking out The Phantom Menace – in 2D and 3D! (The poor guy.) It’s part 2 of 2 – and then we’re done! For this week. We’ll be back next week. Sorry. —&#82...

Believe it or not, there was a time when Star Wars movies only came out every 3 years – and for 16 years, we didn’t have any new movies at all! One thing about Star Wars hasn’t changed, though: everyone remembers their first time seeing Star Wars in the theater. Join us as we reminisce about our earliest memories of Star Wars fandom, and look at how the fandom sustains itself bet...

Two Star Wars Stories, two very different results. What made “Rogue One” such a success, while “Solo: A Star Wars Story” floundered at the box office? And what do these two movies tell us about the future of Star Wars films beyond the Skywalker saga? Let’s dig in and find out! Which movie do you think did more to build the world of Star Wars beyond the main saga? Let...

Welcome back, herders of Nerfs! Last week was all about overrated characters in the Star Wars universe, which naturally led us to ponder the opposite: which characters in Star Wars are *under*rated?? We look at new, old, and new versions of old characters to see who got the short shrift from fandom, the writers, Disney, and even George Lucas himself. Which characters do you think don’t get t...

Hello, Nerfherders! This week, we look at the characters of Star Wars. Not the best characters, or the most underused characters, or anything like that. We turn the microscope on the characters we feel are the least deserving of the hype and following they’ve achieved! (Hey, it’s the internet. We like to complain.) So sit back and get ready to yell at your speakers as we dive into the...

Four movies into Disney’s stewardship, Star Wars is in a very different place than where George Lucas left it. Some like the new direction, many others don’t. Episode IX not only concludes the sequel trilogy, but the Skywalker saga as a whole. With such a daunting task set for the film and fandom so divided, are they starting to look back on the George Lucas era and wish he was back? &...

Who loves stupid fan theories?? Star Wars fans have on shortage of awful ideas, and we’ve pulled together some of our favorites for a completely stupid, off-the-wall roast of ridiculousness. We’re talking Rey, Kylo, Snoke, Han, Qi’ra, and all kinds of weirdness. Enjoy! ———- NHC on Apple Podcasts Facebook Twitter YouTube Get your FREE Audible trial! Buy Galactic...

This week on NHC, we pick up where we left off: where does the “Solo” story go from here? What happens to Qi’ra and Crimson Dawn? Does Han ever see her again? Where would a potential “Solo” sequel find a home? ———- NHC on Apple Podcasts Facebook Twitter YouTube Get your FREE Audible trial! Buy Galactic Empire’s music on Apple Music

We’re changing things up! This week’s episode is the first a new weekly format. We kick off our shorter-form shows with a brief look back at the most recent film in the Star Wars franchise, “Solo: A Star Wars Story”. Now that it’s ended its main run in theaters, and the Nerfherder Council caught the first and last showing. We discuss how our impressions changed after...

“The Clone Wars” is coming back! The big Star Wars news out of SDCC 2018 is the revival of this legendary series on Disney’s upcoming streaming service. Before the news broke, we discussed the series’ original run. It was groundbreaking, sure – but after 100+ episodes, was it running out of steam? We look at some of the unfinished stories that ended up being released...

Weesa back! Sorry for the delay; when the birth of US falls on a recording day, it throws off our schedule. Enough ranting about the fandom, we’re back to talking about movies! “The Last Jedi” is still inspiring heated debate and likely will for years to come. We got to thinking: has any other movie in the franchise caused this much uproar? We think the answer may be ‘yes&#...

Breaking news – sort of! Maybe? The Council responds to Collider’s report that Lucasfilm has put all future Star Wars Story film development on hold, presumably in response to poor box office numbers for “Solo: A Star Wars Story”. But did they? Less than 2 days after the Collider story broke, Lucasfilm informed ABC News that is not the case. So what’s the real story?...
