The Lore You Know

Did you know that the Varia suit is probably just a mistranslation of the English word Barrier, so Samus' suit was supposed to be called the Barrier Suit? Anyway that's one of the fun bits of trivia we could have done if we had more time but we didn't because we had to talk about how dumb Other M is.

Today it's about the genre book that spawned 1000 games all with the same niche. If it seems like a crazy fever dream, that's because originally it was one. Brace yourselves for the drop cause this one gets a little darker than Fortnite may make it seem.   Again we are joined by special guest and Fortnite expert LizardxLizard: https://lizardxlizard.carrd.co/

Not every episode has to be about big flashy heroes and villains. Sometimes you just need a silly little guy. Like, most of the time all the listeners want is just a fun, silly, tiny creature that runs around and does things. Wouldn't it be nice if those silly little guys were running around for real? I'd like that.

The explosive and quite honestly confusing conclusion to the manga that launched a million references. The end is like a choose your own adventure except instead of adventure it's existential dread.

At the very heart of anime lies one root, the genesis of myriad inspirations and references, the origin of a new tone of story telling. We pick apart this pillar of media and analyze its deep messaging, it's dark tones, and we make a bunch of jokes about drugs and bombs and stuff.

In this meta episode we talk about the lore of a show that talks over other shows. Remember if something doesn't make sense, it's just a show. You should really just relax.   Joined again by real life cryptid Lizardxlizard, check her out: https://lizardxlizard.carrd.co/

Today we are talking about a lazy slacker who can't seem to get his life together. We are also talking about the critically acclaimed graphic novel Scott Pilgrim. Maybe it's just our millennial talking but we think this one rocks.

First mini episode, we talk about the plot of Spiderverse, Tears of the Kingdom, and Diablo 4. Just a couple boys being boys.

We talk about real American history in this one, so needless to say it gets a bit rough. In finite terms, we were Bioshocked to find out about the development of this game, but hopefully you can enjoy us getting mad at it.

Sit a while and listen to the story as old as time itself. A story of good and evil, of exceedingly bad ideas, and a good chunk of it is just angels and demons wanting to smash. Get caught up on Diablo lore before Blizzard comes knocking for it's tithe so you can be emotionally invested while your wallet gets drained.   Want some in depth games analysis? You cannot have a fight with only one fighter, and so too must you learn of another warrior to complete your Street Fighter knowledge. This time we are talking about M'Bison and while he might not be a "nice guy" he always has a smile on his face. It's time to learn the meaning of the phrase: Nothing beats psychic powers.

Ready? Fight! Ethan has been training all month preparing to deliver the killing blow to lore of everyone's favorite fighting game that comes in normal and turbo flavors. Premeditated murder? That's for the lawyers to decide. We are just here to start you on the way of murderous intent. Or the opposite of that, which also involves murder, but more a more mindful version.

Our greatest digifears have come to digifruition and we have been digidestined to revisit the most digital series there is. We have a lot of info to cram into this one, so sit back with a nice digibeverage and enjoy this cinematic length descent into madness (all in a shorter runtime than a James Cameron movie).

Nintendo can try to pretend like the latest Mario movie is the first one to come out, but we know better here. Lets-a-go then, you and I, to a place where mushrooms grow rampant and two simple Italian plumbers who are from Brooklyn defeat a king and who is also a wizard sometimes.

I was going to come up with a witty description for John Wick, but then some kid on Fortnite playing as him killed me and started orange justicing and now I don't want to think about it.   Get all caught up before John Wick: Chapter 4 changes all the rules of the world again rendering this lore obsolete.

80 percent of this episode is just us reusing interchangeable sequence from previous videos, but it keeps the cost down and personally they are our favorite parts. Join the crew in a new Digiventure talking about Digimon and their Diginspirations that were more than a little bit of a Digistraight ripoff of other (more successful) things. Yet another entry to the series of "Why most 90s kids are a...

Betrayal, forbidden love, the hidden ties that bind, and spirits from the great beyond with universal wisdom. We untangle this literary ball of yarn while coming to grips that it's all happening to cats. The gang's all here to finally answer the age old question: What did the cat drag in? It was tribalism. Guest expert LizardXLizard makes a farewell appearance, show her some love: https://lizardxl...

Kirby not afraid, we are talking about everyone's favorite little puffball. So poyoself up a chair and get ready for a chill easy time that will suck all your problems away. At least until the end when you will have to confront the reality of all things that are and are not. But if you make if through you get some cake and a nap so pretty worth it.

A chill wind blows, a faint sound of jingle bells. You hear him whispering upon the wind, hohoho. Is he a benevolent spirit of old come to reward the children of the world, or a magnanimous force bound to the laws of ancient ones. Who can say, but today the gang is talking about the tool man. I hope everyone is in a festive spirit, we want to all be on our best behavior if the big man arrives. Tha...

The Blue Blur, The Fastest Thing Alive, King Arthur. He goes by many names but we have unburrowed ourselves from the underground to reveal all the secret rings from the original Sonic Archie Comics. Does it make sense? No not really. But when you are faster than the speed of thought, your plot is going to have some holes in it, and you can't have rings without holes (or something like that don't p...

War. War never changes. But God of War does, a lot. So to catch you up for Ragnarok we have thrown together a little treasure trove of titanic tidbits to fill you in on what you might have missed in the era since Kratos was a young slayer with a heart of coal and plenty of quicktime events under his belt. Not family friendly unless you think Greek gods represented good family values in which case...

Style, substance, sexiness. No we aren't talking about our podcast (well we are those things too), but instead talking about the Queen of Rope Mommies, Bayonetta. Strap on your high heels and squeeze in to your zentais because this one is a rough ride. Whether you are looking for an angle or deman, there's nothing on heaven or earth that can stop us from tickling your fancy...for witch lore.

Zombies...In...Spaaaaaace. That's the game. Sure there's ancient madness-causing space obelisks and space lasers and neat space metals, but why complicate things. In space, no one care hear you heehee.
