This week’s podcast is a beautiful conversation I had with my friend John Crowder about a pretty hot topic - Deconstruction. What is deconstruction? What does it mean? Why is it happening? And why is everyone so up in arms about it? And more importantly, how can we navigate through it with the love of God?  We also spent some time talking about contemplation - what it is, how to engage in it, and...

Righteousness is a gift, based on what Jesus did, and it has the secret power to stand against accusations from the enemy and any opinion we have about ourselves or others that is not God’s opinion. And yet, our flesh is always trying to earn or become something based on...

The message of the Gospel is salvation (translated from the Greek sozo), but what does that mean and when does it happen? It’s far more than just going to Heaven when we die. In part 2 of “The Secret Power of the Gospel,” we examine the magnitude of the word “sozo” (seen in the New Testament 108 times), the right-now reality of salvation and Heaven, and what, exactly, we have been set free from. I...

“Everything is perfect.” We live in a world system that has programmed us to live independently from God and be our own source, so when life hits us with storms and challenges, we make it mean something bad about ourselves or we call it an attack.  But, what if circumstances and trials are happening for us? We live in a reconciled universe - all of creation was reconciled on the cross and is moani...

The Gospel is more than just a message of forgiveness, it is the declaration that the image of God has been restored in humanity. In the first episode of “The Secret Power of the Gospel,” we examine how the work of the cross not only declares God’s unconditional love for mankind, but is also the undoing of the distorted image we have of ourselves and God.  In this episode: * At the fall, humanity’...

Part 3 of “Drop the Charges,” is a focused exploration of the doctrine of original sin versus the introduction of judgment into the human race at the fall as the source of our fallen identity. Scripturally speaking, human judgment, which came from eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, is the root of sin - not our inherent nature or behaviors. In this episode: • How wrong doctrine...
