We get the latest on how Cyclone Gabrielle has affected the agriculture community with Federated Farmers President Andrew Hoggard, we talk with Puketitiri farmer Julianne Carpenter, and we catch up with BakerAg Consultant Rachel Joblin

As Sunday's edition of REX wrapped up, Hamish McKay and Rebecca Greaves debrief the week of damage, devastation, and destruction after Cyclone Gabrielle commanded the national conversation.

Heading south now for a break from the devastation to discuss AgriTech…  We’re looking at subsurface drip irrigation systems…  It provides water slowly and steadily to the root zone of the plant, as opposed to a traditional irrigation system which saturates the soil from the top down…  Cust dairy grazer Gary Robinson has been trialling the system on his farm, and he joins us now.

Some incredible stories of rescues are emerging in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle, with ordinary people stepping up to help those around them. We’ve got Tony Leggett, NZ Farm Life Media Managing Editor to tell us some of the stories from the ground.

The plight of horses, and animals, has been widely publicised following the devastation of Cyclone Gabrielle…  A large group of volunteers is working hard to coordinate the search for missing animals, and get much-needed supplementary feed and essential supplies into Hawke’s Bay…  We’re joined today by Elizabeth Charleston of NZ Equestrian Scene

For this week’s View From Top Paddock, hopefully, it’s not a sodden one in the Horowhenua…  Former Govt Minister now Meat Industry Association and Apiculture NZ Chair Hon. Nathan Guy joins the show…

A new Integrated Farm Planning workshop is available to farmers in the Wairarapa -  BakerAg sheep and beef consultant Rachel Joblin joins us now to tell us more.

Something a bit different for you now, The Matahuru Valley Walk, in North Waikato is the brainchild of three farming women, who all happen to be neighbours - Sian Noble-Campbell, Kirsten Evans and Mary Mickleson. They met a few years ago with the formation of the Matahuru Water Catchment Group, and the rest, as they say, is history. Sian Noble-Campbell joins us now to tell us more

Joining us on REX for our coverage of the aftermath of Cyclone Gabrielle is Federated Farmers President and Kiwitea Farmer Andrew Hoggard.
