Rage Whale

This is the Kev & Drew Show episode. We get distracted discussing Simon Pegg, Shaun Of The Dead and zombie movies, moving on to Danny Boyle with 28 Days Later and Trainspotting. We discuss old movies over new movies and the comfort they bring. Kev has recently seen the Robbie Williams movie Better Man in the cinema. We then both discuss all the TV shows that are on over Christmas from Gavin &a...

Happy New Year. We discuss the new trailers and expected releases in 2025. From Death of a Unicorn to Superman and including Mission Impossible 8, Karate Kid, 28 Years Later, Jurassic World Rebirth and many others. We go off the rails and joke about things I should've edited out but never mind. The first film we are all going to see in 2025 is likely to be Nosferatu which we are all excited about.

With our regular Special Guest Michael, today's spoiler review is our thoughts on the recent Netflix Movie about a TSA agent who checks the 'carry-on' baggage at an airport when a threat forces him to allow a dangerous bag through without alerting anyone. How will this pan out? We have very different thoughts on this movie and enjoy a laugh during when we compare to other movies as well as Christm...

A fun episode discussing the best movies of last year, we also reflect on the podcast and shout out our many guests. Drew arrives a little late but with a great Sigourney Weaver story from last week in London. We discussed Xmas a little and an inventive gift James bought his son Reef. We then review the 2 films we watched in the cinema this week: Sonic 3 and Kraven The Hunter which we both enjoyed...

A rare moment when all 3 of us have watched the same film that week. Fairly new to Netflix is M3GAN which we all had different opinions going into it. Kev especially expected it to be terrible but I think most were pleasantly surprised. We discuss the actors, the theme and the sequel coming out next year. We compare to other films which distract us a little but ultimately this film has more going...

Merry Christmas from all of us at Rage Whale. Our very first Xmas Special Episode. Our regular guest Michael joins us to tell us about his trip last week taking the family to Paris to visit Disney Land. We then discuss our favourite toys we got as kids as well as the movies that make us feel in a Christmas mood which aren't necessarily Xmas movies. We do deviate as usual into conspiracies, bringin...

We pick up from where we left off in the previous episode except this time we make our predictions for the Golden Globe awards when it comes to TV series, movies and actors. We also discuss cancelled gigs, Liquid Death and have some very childish moments.

Kev is hungover but battling through it as we have some important shout outs to do from the recent Spotify Wrapped showing we have some top fans that we truly appreciate. A few new films have been announced and Kneecap takes the Win for the Best British film (when it's an Irish film) at the British Independent Film Awards which we totally agree with. Golden Globe nominees get announced so we go th...

We get caught talking about Spiderman and go down a rabbit hole discussing them all, how they connect and what's coming up next. Including computer games. Kev tries to tell the guys about the new movie on Prime called 'Strange Darling' before realising he can't say very much as everything after the intro to the film are huge spoilers. It is highly recommended though. We deviate onto the Channel 4...

The 3 of us start by having a chat to the infamous Paul Chicken whose adventures are discussed in Ep 56. Kev tells the story of his night out in Manchester at a Sleep Token gig visiting the Co-Op arena for the first time. A metal after-party that he leaves due to being too busy to then go to a gay bar for Karaoke. We discuss some musicals that James has been to and talk about Theatre which props D...

Who is this joining us today from the Dark Side? It's Ben Connolly, long time friend of Kev who is a talented photographer and huge Sci-Fi Fan. So we dedicate the episode to this subject that we haven't really discussed much before which bring up lots of interesting conversations about science, technology as well as movies which often creep into Horror. But first of all, we chat about our London t...

Listen to this episode: Have a cup of Rage Whale. Go on, Go on, Go on!  Shout Outs and Show & Tell as normal with a side helping of some exciting Movie News. The cinema hasn't had much out that interests us recently so we discuss some films we have seen streaming. We also reminisce on comedy TV shows we grew up on and unfortunately for the listener we attempted some impressions of the classic...

Ross joins us to discuss his job working at Odeon Cinema but we quickly find out he also used to work in Blockbusters which starts off a discussion of those nostalgic days. We also get into Cobra Kai, favourite movies of the year and some recent Movie News. Ross tells us about some horror stories with customers when working in the cinema but also the benefits. This is a fun chat covering lots of s...

Kev & Drew discuss the 40th anniversary of this cult classic from very different perspectives. It had a profound impact on Kev from a young age and is held in high esteem, whereas Drew watched it for the first time this week. How does this movie impact the audiences in 2024 and how do the effects and horror stand up. We have a fun time discussing this as there's lots to explore including how i...

Returning regular guest Michael joined us to discuss recent movie news from Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning trailer amongst many other releases and upcoming movies. We talk about a few recent films we have all watched from the cinema to streaming and divert into nostalgia TV like Thunderbirds, The Wombles and Rage Dolls. There is a 3 part Quiz with music involved spread over the episode. H...

This is our Second Coming. We have been allowed to continue doing the Podcast with permission from the mighty Emmanuel Bonami. The man, the myth, the legend we have discussed for 6 months on the podcast. We reflect on such a special episode and the podcast growth in general. Kev & James discuss the new Netflix movie Don't Move and Kev tells us the little he can about the new cinema movie Heret...

This is our final episode ever. Kev claimed previously that if we ever managed to get Emmanuel Bonami on to the Podcast we would have Completed podcasting. But luckily he gives us permission to continue. Emmanuel is a French Actor who most recently appeared in the highly rated movie 'Infested' (or 'Vermin' in French) on Prime/Shudder. We as a team have been obsessed with him for over 6 months, men...

Kev & Drew have recently seen Terrifier 3 in the cinema and are joined by an American Movie Reviewer. Peter is all the way from New York to discuss the huge impact this movie has had on us all in detail. All the impressive practical effects, the insane and grotesque kills and the effect it's had on the general public. Peter has also recently met the cast of the film which entertains us as they...

We have Drew back with us, hopefully for good this time. We start with some classic Show & Tell, leading into movie news discussing Blade, Spiderman and Christopher Nolan. We have an update on the Emmanuel Bonami situation which gives us a lot of joy. We discussed a couple of movies we watched this week; on Netflix 'Woman of the Hour' and 'Venom: The Last Dance' at the cinema. Drew has then cr...

Both of today's guests have had some of the most listened to and watched of any of our previous episodes and we are having them both on together. Kate is a regular guest and especially loved episode 48 where Emma first joined us as a guest, opening us up to a deeper conversation than movies and into mental health.  Today we discuss a whole host of subjects having fun along the way but delving into...

This is a really deep conversation into many subjects. starting with Batman and being an introverted extrovert. We are excited to watch Terrifier 3 and am impressed by the budget and profit of the series. From horror we then move to the exciting and potentially scary Tesla Optimus. We debate billionaires and then move into conversations on the Covid Vaccine misinformation, war, politics, society a...

A new format where we have a focussed discussion on 1 recent cinema movie. We aim not to release the episodes too soon after the film has been released in the cinema to give everyone a chance to watch before listening. Today's Spoiler Review is Kev with his big cousin Michael who is an actor and huge movie buff. We don't think the film deserves as much hate as it got but we still have plenty of qu...

Kev brings on friend Eleanor that he has photographed many times in the past as a model. Eleanor herself is also a professional photographer with a studio and focuses on Family, Pets and Weddings. They bonded over music and she joined to see Green Day in London a few years back and then last year seeing Bring Me The Horizon in Birmingham. We all discuss her passion for animals such as horse riding...

Our friend that we've known for almost 25 years joins us to hang out but unfortunately Drew wasn't able to join. We discuss music and Chris' influence on Kev's music taste who introduced him to lots of metal bands. We delve into conspiracy theories and debate what's ridiculous and plausible but can't fully agree. Kev and Chris are going to the Taskmaster Experience in November to take part in the...

We have had a great run of Special Guests recently and we have many more coming soon. This is an old school episode with just us 3 and the usual mayhem. We have some fun Show & Tells to bring up before discussing new Netflix Series such as The Perfect Couple and Monsters (Melendez Stories). Kev discusses the new insane movie The Substance with Demi Moore which is causing controversy but in a s...
