This book is WILD. Val is less morally ambiguous than totally unhinged, which was a unique reading experience to say the least.

Alexandra Vasti is doing some really interesting things with this series. You know we love independent women, and one who illustrates sex pamphlets is hella fun. This Novella packs a lot more in than the first, which sometimes felt like too much. Overall, we really enjoyed it and look forward to whatever she puts out next.

We change it up this week with Meg explaining a book to Laine. It is the mark of an excellent friendship when one of you can tell the other to skip a book, and neither one questions the judgment.

If a massive size difference in a monster romance is your sexy sweet spot, you'll probably love this book. Meg and Laine could have used more corporate satire and criticism of capitalism in our romance, but maybe we're the only ones.

The third entry in this series was written specifically for Meg. Rupert Carsington is a virgin hero.

Contemporary monster romance isn't usually our ish, but the corporate satire, not to mention the mysteries of the hero's body (like what form is it), kept us both super engaged. Unique, funny, and utterly weird in the best way.

Meg (a lifetime Phantom fangirl) and Laine (a Phantom newb) both really loved this modern, gender-swapped, Phantom of the Opera retelling. Very sexy, very funny, and very tongue in cheek, this checked all of our boxes.

This teaser novella definitely has us excited for Craig's new series! Yes, we are suckers for a low-angst book between adults who know what they want.

Kate Bateman doesn't know the meaning of the word "enemy" but she does know exactly how to write sexy and low angst romance.

This Novella about a best friend and a little sister hooking up after their shared loss gets off to a very cute start with a very sexy hot tub of potential. Sadly, the novella ends before anything can really get going.

This Novella is absolutely adorable and angst free, if a bit lacking in traditional Christmas tropes. Taking a triple dose of a love potion should only be done under supervision.

Elizabeth Hoyt's take on Christmas is exactly what you'd expect. Equal measures of sex and angst with a smattering of Christmas cheer.

Can the dungeons and dragons morality scale explain our taste in romance heroes? We do our best to explore that in this episode, while talking about the contrast between sexy love stories in angsty world building in this book.

We finish out the Love is All Around Trilogy with this adaptation of A Christmas Carol. There are some interesting concepts to explore in this one and we definitely appreciated the lack of infertility drama. TBH it isn't all that Christmas-y and the length means some of those interesting concepts can't be fully explored.

St. Stephen is not St. Nicholas and thus we are not moved by the spirit of Christmas in this Novella.

Meg picked this up because the idea of a Christmas novella based on Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer seemed fun. Not only is it fun, it's also sexy and innovative. Happy Holidays!

Changing things up this week with a Christmas novel featuring the bromance book club. This book is so much fun and we both enjoyed it a bunch. Laine hates bathrooms, Meg thought Colton was pushy, but overall this is a festive romp.

We both think this book is a fitting cherry on top of the London Steampunk sundae. Alexandra gets her happy ending and the gang gets back together one more time. If you want a quick, feel-good read about the humans surrounded by vampires, you'll enjoy it!

Bec McMaster certainly knows how to end a series. We face the existential crisis of being older than all of our heroines while relishing in the hate sex. DUH

Laine and Meg squeal over this perfect book. It's third in the Lady Sherlock series, but first in our hearts. Somehow we keep this spoiler free, so listen and prepare for the Art of Theft coming October 2019.

This novella took us both by surprise with just how great it was. Flawless execution, next time please add more baths.
