They said there was a city of gold. Then a kingdom. Then a whole map full of lies. But what if El Dorado was never a place at all? What if it was a massive colonial misunderstanding fueled by greed, bad assumptions, and truly unhinged expedition choices? Today we’re digging into El Dorado, not to strike it rich, but to sift through the myth, the violence, and the very real damage left behind. PHEN...

Which way is up when stairs end at ceilings and doors open to walls? Did Sarah Winchester succeed in confusing the supposed spirits that haunted her house? Was that even her goal? So much mystery surrounds the Winchester house, it's hard to know what it was all for. One thing I know for sure though, and that's that I want to visit this place ASAP to see if there's any ghosts still haun...

They say what goes up must come down. But when? You may not always get to choose when your #adventure is over. Perhaps Astral Projection works much in the same way, where once you achieve your desired effect, how does one go about getting back inside their body when they feel they’ve had enough? Today we dive into Astral Projection, the hottest travel ticket since the Titanic (less the iceburg). I...

Imagine #lights that mysteriously appear above a valley that move at different speeds and appear in different ways. So inconsistent, researchers can't even capture enough of a pattern to begin explaining what's causing them. That is, if whatever is causing them is even explainable. The #Hessdalen Lights have confounded observers for decades, and yet they remain a #mystery. Are we meant to...

Let’s dive into the #lore behind shadow people, potential theories, and what makes a shadow person's aura so ominous that it makes even the most seasoned #horror enthusiast's ski...

But was anything really discovered in the #oakislandtreasure pit? Watch this week’s Phenomena episode to find out! PHENOMANNOUNCEMENTS: Follow @Ilustratorium. Sara if you...

How do you know you're awake right now? Is it because you're bound to the laws of science and physics? Is that why people like #luciddreaming, because the rules of everyday life no longer apply? Some religions and cultures believe it is a #spiritual doorway to a higher #consciousness, others a way to receive messages from beyond the veil. Whatever you believe, you've probably heard of...

How much do you trust your #memory? Is there something you swear was once one way that you've recently found out is another? You may be experiencing the Mandela Effect. From big historical moments (like the death of a public figure) to small seemingly insignificant changes (like the lack of the cornucopia in the Fruit of the Loom logo), the #mandelaeffect can highjack any memory and make you b...

¿Has oído hablar del Chupacabra? The #chupacabra is one of the creepiest cryptids to date imo. The way it's described is having reptilian skin, spikes on its back, sharp teeth, glowing red eyes and even sometimes wings. It truly does look like a #cryptid moodboard. But is it real? Either way, the chupacabra seems to have made a nice warm bed in the minds of ranchers and farmers whose #animals...

Did you ever think ear-piercing sounds could be zapped into your brain by an intelligence operative from another country in order to stop peace negotiations? Me neither! But apparently that's one of the theories surrounding the insane auditory phenomenon known as Havana Syndrome. #havanasyndrome is known to cause vertigo, nausea and sometimes even neurological issues and it's only really b...

Imagine being forever known as (place your body was found) person. Such was the fate of one #Somerton Man, after he was found on Somerton Beach on December 1, 1948. No ID, no real #clues as to who he was or what he was doing there. Nothing but a #cryptic note found in his pocket. Who left him there to die? And what was his purpose? Let's dive into this strange and mysterious phenomenon that ha...

Ah, the #Kraken. The deep sea tentacled beast supposedly responsible for many a #shipwreck, according to #Nordic folklore. With limbs 10 feet tall and a grip so strong it can break even the strongest ships in half like a biscuit, the Kraken is no stranger to a crew meal. And if not the Kraken, what left these nautical explorers so traumatized, the only way they could process it is by telling tales...
