Introduction: This is our third and final week in discussing the once for all sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Our first part of this three-part series started in Hebrews 9:1-14 where we discussed the desire of God to have us in His presence. Yet, because of our sinfulness, we needed redemption. The Old Covenant…

Introduction: We live in a world that all about the now. People today seem to live moment by moment. Perhaps it is because of all of the screen time and media that we have, our short attention spans, or all of the distractions. But for some reason, our culture today is very centered on what is happening…

Introduction: I have had many people come to me and want to discuss Kirk Cameron’s recent shift in his theology about hell. Around two weeks ago, Kirk Cameron and his son, James, came out with a podcast regarding the doctrine of hell. During this conversation, they argued for a change in the understanding…

Introduction: During our last time together, we ended with Jesus being our forerunner. We were told that Jesus went behind the curtain into the Holy of Holies to remove the dividing wall between God and man. By His death on the cross, we can now have access to God through Christ. This is such a life-changing…

Introduction: Many people struggle with relating to God at times. They see Him as holy and set apart. They see Him as perfect and spotless. And these views of God are all completely true. God is perfect. God is without sin. Listen to a couple of the many verses in the Bible describing the perfection…

Introduction: Words have power. Growing up, I remember being told about the power of one’s words. The old adage that sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me has always been a blatant fallacy. Words do matter. They can either build one up or tear one down. However, as powerful…

Introduction: During the previous verses we went through, the author brought up this concept of rest. He compared those who failed to enter the Promised Land to those who fail to find salvation in Christ - those who are hardened by sin and continue in unbelief have no salvation in the Lord. This week,…

Introduction: The concept of rest goes all the way back to the book of Genesis. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. Introduction: We live in a world that is very spiritual today. But it wasn’t necessarily that way in recent history. Starting around the late 19th century and extending into the mid to late 20th century, there was a time where naturalism and atheism had a stronger hold on our culture. Although this influence…
