Ornate Stairwells

We were going to watch Wild At Heart but then we realized we had two movies we watched together to talk about and hadn't done a proper episode in a while. So we decided to clear out our backlog of things to discuss to prepare us for the new year of... finishing this David Lynch project but in a slightly different way than we originally intended. Next week we will be back to talk about Wild At Hear...

This episode has nothing to do with NANA , I just did NANA cover art because I didn't know what else to do for an episode that's just us doing lists and also to spite Autumn for their cohost post . Next week we will be back to talk about Wild At Heart ! You can follow Em on twitter @em_being and should go listen to their other podcasts by going to www.abnormalmapping.com , especially Repertory Scr...

Listen folks... I gotta keep it real with you. It's half past midnight as I write this episode description and I hate writing episode descriptions. "I play my part on life's stage. I tell what I can to form the perfect podcast. But that podcast cannot come before all are ready to hear, so I tell what I can to form the perfect podcast. Sometimes my anger at the MCU is evident. Sometimes it is not anger, really – it may appear as such, but could it be a clue? The MCU I speak of is not a kind franchise..." Next week we will be back to...

I never write episode descriptions as funny as Niamh does but that's fine lol. We're back after a week off with a LONG rambly episode about all sorts of things. We talk Eternals, my journey through Romero's Dead movies and Nia's objections to my criticisms, Everything Everywhere All At Once and representation politics, and gin and tonics. Oh also I guess we also discuss those things in the title o...

"Even the ones who laugh are sometimes caught without an answer. These podcasters who introduce themselves, but we swear we have been introduced to them while listening to other episodes before, yes? Look in the mirror. What do you see? Is it a dream, or a nightmare? Are we being introduced against our will? Are they mirrors? I can see the smoke. I can smell the fire. The battle is drawing ni...

"There is a sadness in this world, for we are ignorant of many things. Yes, we are ignorant of many beautiful things. Things like the truth. So sadness in our ignorance is very real. The tears are real. What is this thing called a tear? There are even tiny ducts—tear ducts—to produce these tears should the sadness occur. "Then the day when the sadness comes. Then we ask, 'Will the sadnes...

"Sometimes ideas, like men, jump up and say, 'Hello!' They introduce themselves, these ideas, with words – are they words? These ideas speak so strangely. "All that we see in this world is based on someone's ideas. Some ideas are destructive, some are constructive. Some ideas can arrive in the form of a podcast. I can say it again: Some ideas arrive in the form of a podcast." Next w...

"I have a podcast, yes. Is it funny to you? It is not to me. Behind all things are reasons. Reasons can even explain the absurd. "Do we have the time to learn the reasons behind human beings' varied behavior? I think not. Some take the time. Are they called listeners? Hit play, and see what life teaches." Next week we will be back to talk about Twin Peaks S1E3: Episode 2 aka Zen, or...

"Welcome to Stairwells. My name is Niamh Schönherr. I live in Chicago. I am known as the NANA Lady. There is a story behind that. There are many stories on Stairwells. Some of them are sad, some funny. Some of them are stories of Autumn getting really high, of Deep Space 9. Some are ordinary. Yet they all have about them a sense of erotics—the erotics of cinema. "Sometimes, the erotics o...

"I shall never forget the weekend we started Twin Peaks . An orange sun hung in the sky like a huge magnifying glass. It was the coldest Sunday in my recollection.
