New To Weeaboo

Time for episode 157! And it's a doozy. We watched Chargeman Ken. An anime often considered one of the worst of all time. And it's really hard to argue against that. Almost everything that could go wrong does go wrong. You can check it out (if you really want to) on  Crunchyroll . Episode 156 is here! And once more into horse world, with Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray! The recent spinoff starring Oguri Cap. Yes, the background joke character. And it arguably surpasses all the other Uma Musume anime. Check it out on  YouTube ! Welcome to episode 155! And yep, it's more Umamusume. This time the two OVAs (BNW no Chikai and Road to the Top) and the movie, Beginning of a New Era. The first OVA is essentially an epilogue to the first season of Pretty Derby, being about Biwa Hayahide, Narita Taishin, and Winning Ticket. The second is a prequel to the movie, chronicling Narita Top Road, Admire Vega, and TM Opera O. The movie i...

Time for episode 154! We returned to Umamusume: Pretty Derby, to finish what we started by watching season 3. Good timing, considering the franchise recently exploded in popularity. This season focuses on Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond. It's also bit weaker than the previous seasons. Check it out on Crunchyroll ! "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hall are licensed under CC BY 4.0 ( https...

Episode 153 is here! Once again, we're back in the world of My Hero Academia! But this time, it's the spinoff, Vigilantes! It does a lot of great things to differentiate itself from the main series. But it also makes a few missteps. Check it out on  Crunchyroll . "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hall are licensed under CC BY 4.0 ( https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ )

Welcome to episode 152! A new season of anime is once again upon us, and we took a quick look at 4 of them. Cosmic horror with gay undertones! Fantasy with time travel! Horror with gay undertones! Again! And a yuri harem! Wild how that worked out. You can check them out yourself: Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show New Saga The Summer Hikaru Died There's No Freaking Way I'll be Your Lover! Unle...

Time for episode 151! In it, we talk about the spring 2025 anime, Rock is a Lady's Modesty! We previously talked a bit about its first 3 episodes, but now we've finished it. And we're glad we did, because it was a genuinely fun time watching it. Weird BDSM imagery and all. Check it out on Hidive ! "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hall are licensed under CC BY 4.0 ( https://creativecommons...

Episode 150 is here! And we return to Princess Principal, with Crown Handler Chapter 3! The 3rd movie in the series, and honestly, it's a bit bland. Which is disappointing, considering how much we like this anime. Check it out on Blu-Ray! "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hall are licensed under CC BY 4.0 ( https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ )

Welcome to Episode 149! It's still June, which means it's still PRIDE! And we talked about a fairly recent anime, Tadaima, Okaeri. Which is about a gay couple raising their children. Oh, and it's Omegaverse. If you don't know what that is, don't worry, we have a crash course at the beginning. Whether you want it or not. Check out the anime on  Crunchyroll ! "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Ji...

Time for Episode 148! Yes, after a bit of a hiatus, it's now June! Which means time for PRIDE! And to start, we're talking about The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady. Which is a lot of title. A noble girl and a princess meet! They do magic! Fight a dragon! Stop a plot! All while getting closer to each other. Check it out on  Crunchyroll ! "Dimension" by Cre...

Episode 147 is here! And it's now Spring, which means time to talk about new anime! And we got 4 great picks this time. Although two of them have weirdly similar vibes. A photography club, the end of the world, theraputic travel, and gay rockers (wait, again?). Check them out: mono: https://www.crunchyroll.com/series/G1XHJV0N8/mono Apocalypse Hotel: https://www.crunchyroll.com/series/GXJHM3G58/apo...

Welcome to episode 146! We watched season 7 of My Hero Academia! Which means we're now caught up. In this season, a lot of plot threads start to close during the first part of the final battle. And Nemesis is Very Normal™ about Himiko's and Ochako's big scene. Check it out on  Crunchyroll ! Content Warning:  This season has depictions of child abuse, and that is discussed in the podcast. "Dimensio...

Time for episode 145! Still My Hero Academia, but this time it's season 6! And after a bit of a wobbly season, this feels like quite the improvement. Granted, there are still problems, including one that may fly over some people's heads. Check out the season on  Crunchyroll ! Or another streaming service of your choice. Content Warning:  This season has depictions of child abuse, and that is discu...

Episode 144 is here! And we watched season 5 of My Hero Academia, which may be the weakest season so far. Granted, that's largely because of a middling first half. At least the second half is a signifcant improvement, even with the somewhat messy Todoroki family stuff. Oh yeah, there's also the third movie. Check out MHA on Crunchyroll (or one of the many other streaming services it's on)! Content...

Welcome to episode 143! We're continuing our viewing of My Hero Academia with season 4! Plus the second movie, Heroes Rising. And we have a couple of divided opinions about this one. Notably for the second half. Check out the  season (and movie ) for yourself! Content Warning:  This season deals with child abuse, and it is discussed within the podcast. "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hal...

Time for episode 142! We watched season 3 of My Hero Academia! This is the season where a few narrative cracks start to form, although it's still quite enjoyable overall. We also watched the first MHA movie. And yes, just as a heads up: the next few months of episodes will all be MHA. You can check the anime out on  Crunchyroll and other streaming services ( including some of the movies ). "Dimens...

Episode 141 is here! And it's winter, which means winter anime! Four of them, for this episode. And two of them are kind of so-so, the other two caught our interest. One being a surprise. So check them out: Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms I Left my A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths! Welcome to episode 140! We jumped back into the world of My Hero Academia! This time season 2, which includes a tournament arc (a shounen staple), an encounter with The Hero Killer, and more! There's also a few not-so-great elements as well. You can check out the anime on  Crunchyroll . "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hall are licensed under CC BY 4.0 ( https://creativecommons.org/licens...

Time for episode 139! Love Live! Superstar!! got its third (and probably final) season! So we watched it. All the character arcs had to come to a conclusion this season, and they largely nailed it. Which is a great comeback from the more lackluster second season. Check it out on  Crunchyroll . "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hall are licensed under CC BY 4.0 ( https://creativecommons.org...

Episode 138 is here! And it's the last episode of 2024. So to round off the year, we decided to start a shounen anime. Namely, My Hero Academia! And for now, only season 1. And watching it, it became pretty clear why people liked it in the first place. You can check it out just about anywhere that streams anime. Like Crunchyroll . "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hall are licensed under C...

Welcome to episode 137! We watched the legendary School Days. But you should know it's not legendary for its quality. If anything, "trainwreck" is a good word for it. If you really want to, you can watch it on Crunchyroll . Content Warning:  The anime contains blood, gore, infidelity, and possible rape. The visual novel series it's based on also contains incest. These are discussed in the podcast....

Time for episode 136! We talked about Girls Band Cry, the original cg animated anime that came out earlier this year! The one that's about a band forming and all the drama and baggage that comes with it. And to be honest, it largely exceeds expectations. Check out out on Crunchyroll ! "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hall are licensed under CC BY 4.0 ( https://creativecommons.org/licenses...

Episode 135 is here! And it's a new anime season, which means we watched four anime at random. And wow, we got all good ones. Varying degrees of good, but still good. Check them out: I'll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History The Stories of Girls Who Couldn't Become Magicians Ranma 1/2 (2024) DAN DA DAN Content Warning:  DAN DA DAN contains a depiction of attempted sexual assault. Welcome to episode 134! We wrap up October with another horror anime. It's called, well, Another! While it had a strong start, it started to disappoint in various ways. You can see for yourself on  Crunchyroll . Content Warning: This anime has depictions of blood and gore, murder and suicide. These are mentioned in the podcast. "Dimension" by Creo and "Devotion" by Jim Hall are licensed under CC B...

Time for Episode 133! We watched Happy Sugar Life. And despite the name, it very much fits for an October episode. As unconventional as it may be. Toxic yuri doesn't get much more toxic than this! Check it out if you want, but heed the warnings below. Content Warning:  This anime contains blood, gore, violence, child abuse (both physical and emotional), torture, rape (including statutory), pedophi...
