I thought for a long time about what I wanted to do for the mix. Lately, I haven't been able to spend much time on music, which bothered me. However, this mix rekindled my love for music. The reason was that I kept confining myself within a frame, saying, "No, it won't work like this, it won't work like that," and it wore me out. In this set, I played whatever sounded good to my ears recently. The...

"this mix was one of my favourites to record as of late and is inspired primarily by the second tune in: ‘phil ther’ by costin rp. those infectiously minimal, sun-soaked, swirly elements remind me of summer being on the horizon." @millie-hunter

"I've had a new found obsession with DJing recently, and this mix is a reflection of the time I've spent digging over the last couple of months. I've always been drawn to sounds with interesting textures, melodies and slightly dark atmospheres - so there is plenty of stuff across house, breaks, minimal and techno to scratch that itch inside the 90 ish minutes. Someone I played this too said it sou...

"Influenced by the past few months of this year, this mix pulls together an amalgamation of my moodier, happier, energetic and trippier side of sounds into one. Feeling full of energy, this year has brought incredibly inspirational gigs, DJ lessons, dances and bookings. Having two headline bookings this year has made me think about set energy differently, hence some of the abso slammers. It’s spec...

"I think this mix reflects a lot of my mood recently- anxiously waiting for exams to be over and summer to begin. It’s slower than I usually play, with long transitions and built up tension. But I hope towards the end there’s a sense of relief." Enaen is a Chicago born and Edinburgh based DJ with a love for deep techno and hardgroove. She made her Edinburgh debut in 2023 and has since then played...

"I love the chaos and calm that the atmospheres of melancholic, energetic and immersive sounds give me, that is why I bring you a set of atmospheres and "Colombian pachanga" with this set. I tried to capture not only the tracks and producers that I like, but also all the thoughts and feelings I have when I try to let the music flow. This set talks a little about my musical origin and the sounds th...

"I wanted this mix to be dark and… almost boring. With repetitive noises, echoes, without any breakdowns or groove. To bring back the sound from times when techno was a form of almost a rebellion, played in dark basements and warehouses - with poor lighting and with people wearing plain comfortable clothes. It’s again this idea of a party where the DJ is invisible, and the only thing they do is ma...

"This mix is a journey from Kairogen’s recent favourites within the techno sphere, evolving into a UK influenced 140 ending. Hypnotic, tense and textural sounds make up this mix, which organically came together late at night by candlelight." @kairogen @@epika-edinburgh

"For this mix I have created a journey through my favourite hypnotic, dark & hard sounds. I hope this mix makes you imagine you are floating through space or in a distant cosmic realm. . . I have tried to build a nice progression throughout the mix with some ambient, upbeat, dark & melodic elements in between. Recorded from my home studio on CDJ-900s (my favourite CDJs) Enjoy - iluna" iluna is a S...

"For this mix I wanted to focus on the early Pond Life Records music, a selection of mostly downtempo / Jazz leaning tracks... what you might hear at the Pond Life tent at Cosmic Roots Festival. The exact opposite of my recent release... " @robiiiiiiiiii @pondliferecords

"Four years ago, I released a mix on Nowruz for the new year, and I listened back to it as a prompt. March 2020 and March 2024 are enveloped by unimaginable displacement and loss, and we are called on to plant and water seeds of resistance as we move into spring. While this mix features my classic deranged three minute blends, they’re contrasted by complex syncopation and seismic switch-ups that m...

"I had been looking for a proper home for this baby since the gig took place in September, with just myself and Objekt on the evening's bill and a dancefloor full of tough groovers that don't mind getting a little glitched out. I love the journey I went on with this one. It's certainly a trip, if you're looking for that kinda thing. Heavyweight bass, frenetic and strangely seductive, freaky hypnos...

"Like a lot of my mixes, I love to build up the energy as the mix goes on, shifting between moods and weaving between 4x4 and broken beat techno. What I did not expect with this mix was to properly let loose and get real gritty at the end with some UK Dubstep." @monika-taneska
