Málaga travelled to Racing Santander this past matchday, but it was certainly not one to get pulses racing. A 0-0 draw in Santander still sees Málaga stuck in the relegation places, but they did climb up one place to 21st in the league. And getting out of those relegation places will not get any easier this coming weekend as the revelation of this season’s Segunda so far come to La Rosaleda: the b...

The Pepe Mel era is underway and it has started with a draw, but the performance was much better than in previous matchdays. We discussed that 1-1 draw at La Rosaleda against Villarreal B and what changes we have noticed under Pepe Mel so far. Then, we looked ahead to our bottom of the table clash as bottom of the league Málaga travel to Racing Santander - the team above them in the league. Plus,...

‘Pablo Guede no puede’ - this week saw Pablo Guede sacked as the manager of Málaga. A 3-1 away loss to Tenerife finished off Guede’s time at Málaga CF with many fans and fan groups voicing their displeasure with Guede and those above him. We looked back on that loss at the Helidoro and, fair to say, we had a lot to talk about in regards to that game. But that Guede sacking has led us on to the ‘Hi...

Is the writing on the wall for Pablo Guede after another loss? Well, the writing was literally written on the wall for Guede to go this week, as a group of fans graffitied the walls of Málaga’s training ground with their thoughts on Guede and Manolo Gaspar - but the club still seem to be backing their man. On this week’s episode, we looked back at Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Huesca before looking ahead t...

I was very 'upsettee' after watching Málaga lose to Albacete this weekend and it seemed that quite a lot of others at La Rosaleda were similarly 'upsettee' too, as the full-time whistle was the cue for loud chants of ‘¡Guede vete ya!’ (‘Guede go now!’). We will look back on how the Clockwork Cheese ticked and Málaga creaked. Plus, we will look ahead to our game against Huesca this coming Sunday, w...

Matt arrives back in town just in time for Málaga's first home game of the season - and it feels like he probably shouldn't have bothered, as he witnessed a pathetic performance from the home team as they were battered 4-0 by Las Palmas. Matt did enjoy getting the new Hummel shirts though and enjoyed drinking Victorias again; you can expect to hear drinking some of those whilst talking to the fans...

That's a wrap on Malaga’s 2021/2022 Segunda season - and thank god it is over, as Malaga have staggered over the finish line in recent months. And that staggering continued right up until the last game, as Malaga were at their most bereft again, as they lost 1-0 away to Lugo. We looked back at our final game of the season, before heading from the red and white of Lugo to the glittering red carpet...

Permanencia has been achieved and Málaga will be staying in the Segunda. Happy days…or is it? A less than impressed La Rosaelda let its thought be known to the team on Saturday night following the full-time whistle of Málaga 0-1 Burgos. Boos and whistles came down from the stands despite Málaga staying up. We discussed that 1-0 loss, and the fan reaction postmatch, before looking ahead to a fairly...

A triumphant weekend for Málaga with a vital 2-0 win away to Tenerife. A superb performance from all involved helped Málaga get 5 points clear of the drop zone. We revelled in that 2-0 win at Tenerife before looking ahead to our next game, as Burgos come to La Rosaleda where a home win will mean guaranteed safety. Plus, we discussed Antoñín and Kevin’s omission from the last matchday squad and Mál...

Guiricast Episode 100 - amazingly we have somehow made 100 episodes of this stuff and we can now consider ourselves part of the podcast 100 club. Quite a landmark episode for us in a week which might be looked back on as a landmark week for Málaga this season. Real Sociedad B narrowed the gap to just 1 point to Málaga in 18th, before Málaga earned a credible draw against Oviedo to increase that ga...

The heat is very much on Málaga now, as Amorebieta and Real Sociedad B, below them in the league, gain ground over Málaga in the race to stay above the relegation precipice. Málaga did not help their own plight by losing their Friday night game away to Las Palmas with goals from Jonathan Viera and Jesé helping Las Palmas grab all 3 points, despite Aleix Febas replying with a goal late on. And thin...
