Its A Music Thing

I met Kevvy years back when he was touring through with Die Mannequin. Since then I have wanted to talk to him and I finally got the chance to nail him down for a great discussion. We talk about his musical background and how he has morphed into a comedy producer, podcaster and how he has continued to work in the industry.

In this episode I get the chance to talk to Dave from Toronto's Dragged In. A melodic hardcore band based out of Toronto. As in every episode when I get a chance to talk to someone one on one we delve into how they got into music.

It was so awesome getting to FINALLY talk to my old friend Mike Froh. I have known Mike for years now and it was great being able to talk to him about his musical journey and life.

I have been a HUGE Diesel Boy fan for so long. My first 7" record was their 7" Strap On album. So it was incredible getting to talk to Dave and talk about his music journey and how the band came and kind of went.

This conversation was an absolute joy. We talked about so many things but as always we start at the start and talk about how Mike got into music and his musical journey.

I had the chance to sit down with editor in chief of New Noise Lisa Root. I have known her for awhile now and it was great sitting down and talking about how they go about putting together issues, how they get writing ideas and which bands they cover.

It was so awesome to sit down and talk to Danny Miles from July Talk and Tongue Helmet. I've seen them at the Le Garage and have seen them grow drastically. We get into his love of bird photography as well as some music talk as well.

I met Maya a few years ago when she toured through with Motel Raphael. I offered up a place to stay for the band and it was really great to get to know everyone. I love our scene. By our scene I mean the Canadian music scene. It's small even though it spans the whole nation. I haven't met Dana in person but we talk online often and compare notes and shows. She's an extremely talented photographer and it was a pleasure to speak to her. Expect a part 2!

I had the chance to sit down with Prince Daddy and the Hyena from upstate New York. Im not going to lie their name is what lured me into checking them out. Once I checked out their music I was hooked. Prince Daddy sounds ALOT like PUP not so much you would mistake them for PUP but you can see that they get inspiration from them.
