Pat Bradley is the founder of Clayton-Bradley Academy. She has worked with Linda Jordan at several schools throughout her career and partnered with Linda from the very beginning for CBA. Linda Jordan is an international trainer for educators and works for the International Center for Leadership in Education. Pat and Linda discuss the intentionality of relationships from the very beginning for CBA.

Tregg Kirkland is a parent of three CBA students. The Kirklands have been with CBA from day 1 and love to share the amazing experiences of their children. From parent choice to a family atmosphere to the asset of teachers, Tregg shares with Kendall Terry the ways that CBA builds and nurtures relationships with students and parents.

Relationships take on new roles as students transition to High School. Arielle Kennedy, High School Math Teacher, joins Kendall to discuss the importance and value of relationships in the High School setting. A simple question of, "How was your weekend?" can start a conversation that allows students brains to be ready to learn.

Students need to feel empathy, learn to speak with kindness, and help build strong lego house foundations. These concepts all relate to how Katie Murrin, 1st/2nd Grade teacher, builds relationships with her students. Katie joins Kendall in discussing what relationship building looks like in the 1st and 2nd grade and how those relationships lay the foundation for future success.

One of CBA's Preschool teachers, Stephanie Goode, joins Kendall to discuss the role of relationships in the PreK classroom. The time when 3 and 4 year olds are learning the value of their voice and the voice of others. CBA works to help students build relationships with their teacher and peers as they are learning to love school, learning, and exploring.

Relationships matter at all levels of learning. Middle School is one area that relationships start to take on new ideas and goals as the student begins to value the peer to peer relationship as more important than student to teacher. Kendall welcomes Becky Adkins to the podcast to discuss relationships in our CBA middle school. Becky is the science teacher for our 6th and 7th grade classes.

As we continue our discussion on the importance of relationships, Kendall brings in a CBA 5th grade teacher, Nick Starkey, to discuss relationships in 5th grade. This continues to look into why relationships matter so much to our CBA model and helps us build our community.

Relationships are the foundation of learning. When the proper relationships are established in education, the brain is unlocked for learning. Real engagement between the student and the teacher can take place with investment into the right relationship. This is an introduction into why relationships matter and how CBA uses these relationships to ignite the power of learning in our students.
