Now games usually should not result in someone getting hurt, but it happens. I remember a time playing hide and seek in the dark resulting in me getting one of the worst black eyes...

A little while ago, we did a show about fairytales, and how Disney has a talent of retelling these ancient tales that were passed from generation to generation. They take these stories and Disney-fy them for kids. These stories were not made for kids though...they were dark, full of deception and death. These stories are often more complex than folk lore, and have a lesson for us to learn. Disney...

Most murders follow a pattern, or have clues. Many times the motive is made clear by what is found at the crime scene. But sometimes cases do not fit into a handy template. Sometimes the reason for the death is not clear. In our day and age though, due to advances in DNA technology there is always a hint to where to start. But this was not always so, and this was the case of a man found in the cap...

The island was clai...

I remember one day my mom brought up that she was thinking of donating her body to science when she dies. She said to me that she wasn’t going to use it anyway, so why not? Why not help someone? I told her that I would support whatever she chooses, and ultimately she told me that she decided to be an organ donor and not donate her whole body to science. People who decide to donate their organs to...

Today, I am presenting an episode that I wanted to put out to all of you since the very beginning of this podcast. The thing is…I avoided it until now. The reason is that the subject matter is a sensitive one, and close to my heart. I honestly started to try to develop this episode multiple times over the past year, and walked away since it affected me so deeply. But I feel that it is vitally impo...

For many people their reputation is everything. For some it determines their status in society, and for others it is a measure of their influence. A person’s reputation is a sum of all actions that is reflected by the people around us, in the way they treat or interact with us. It is an indirect result of anything and everything we do, and even though it takes years to build one - it can take minu...

By the dawn of the 19th century, consumption which is now known as tuberculosis had killed one in seven people. Throughout much of the 1800s, tuberculosis patients looked for a cure in sanatoriums where it was believed that resting in a healthy environment would result in a cure. But for many it wasn’t, and they never left. For most patients, time spent in a sanatorium resulted in death in a time...

Genetics can be a funny thing sometimes. In my case for example, I look like my mom but when I had my DNA tested I was genetically more my dad. In the case of my niece and nephew, they both have the most beautiful shade of red hair. Apparently my sister-in-laws grandfather had a red beard, but no one is positive why these two won the genetic lottery with their hair colour. Sometimes genetics can l...

I love to learn about the people and events that came before me, and how this changed the world I live in today. Sometimes history isn’t just history though. Sometimes that history is still alive in some form, and sometimes you may end up seeing that...
