Historically High

Depending on who's telling the events that transpired in 1971, you may hear them described as one of those three. You can decide for yourself after hearing what happened to cause the deadliest prison incident in U.S. History. A Riot caused by inhuman treatment ended with hostages taken and a portion of the prison in inmate control. Preconceived notions start getting cloudy in the Shoe-Dio when we...

Come with us as we explore another Wonder of the Ancient World. The city of Babylon, who's beauty and wonder captured the favor of Alexander the Great who loved it so much he died there. Between its Hanging Garden, The Tower of Babel, and the Ishtar Gate, there's a lot to unpack but were gonna do our best not to let this one get away from us. Oh and hear why we think the Bible hated it so much.  S...

Religion is a touchy subject. With so many faiths throughout the word its hard to pick which to cover first...well actually......it wasn't that hard. Now if you were to start your own religion, I can't really think of a better way to grab everyone's attention than by making your church's deity the bad guy from someone else's story. But that's actually pretty misleading, most of their shit was abou...

Shows, Toys, Athletes, etc. It's Friday and we're playing just the tip with the weekend.  What better way to fluff yourself than joining us on a journey back to the distant past.....all the way back to the 90's. WW2 has a few key moments you can point to and say "Yep, that was the moment our victory was decided." In Europe it was the Normandy Invasion. In the Pacific against the Empire of Japan, that turning point was the Battle of Midway. Just 6 months after the Attack on Pearl Harbor, Japan was set to lure our remaining Aircraft Carriers into an ambush and establish total control in the pacific. What st...

The history of the ancient Scandinavian people is one that has kind of taken on a life of its own over the years. It's been dramatized and embellished to gain popularity, and here's the kicker, none of it was needed. Vikings were an incredible group of people who's influence is still heavily felt today in our modern world. They discovered America wayyyy before ol Christopher "Turns out I was a hug...

It's bright lights, its big money, it's bet it all on black. Tune in and find...

In a time when everybody was literally kung fu fighting, one group holds a special place in culture just on sheer badassness. You're pissed, We're pissed. Like most of you in the USA, thanks to a group of overreaching and religiously motivated Supreme Court Justices, we've been hearing non-stop about Roe v Wade and its reversal. Now while most may have an idea of how this legal precedence protecting a woman's right to privacy and choice regarding abortion came about, we're gonna provide you all the details. We're fired u...

We went long on this one....and well it seems only appropriate that we're covering Homer's most well known works, The Illiad and The Odyssey. In additional to Homer himself, or herself, or maybe it was a bunch of people, there's a lot to unpack with this one. From the mystery that is Homer, to separating the fact from fiction in his works, we're covering the ancient world as only we know how, ston...

1969 New York City, The Summer of Love. But not love for all. Well we're gonna tell how this one got all kinds of fucked up and what The Juice has been up to since. Support the show Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company...

Orenthal James Simpson, or OJ as most know him is a story almost too strange to be real. A child grows up poor and disabled, overcomes his disability and discovers football. Becomes a national sensation and champion, Drafted #1 into the NFL, Stars in movies and in broadcasting, nationally beloved, but one night changes it all, charged with a horrendous crime he says he didn't commit.  That's gotta...

Leading up to D-Day, the Allies had one huge problem. How do you launch the largest seaborne invasion in history without the Nazis knowing about it? Well it wasn't easy, and it took an army, well kind of an army. It also took one spy who was so good, he was awarded honors by both Britain and Germany during the war. Spark up and Strap in as we tackle Operation Fortitude and Allied deception during...

Imagine the internet was a city, now imagine that city about 2,300 years ago. There once existed a city for the sole purpose of gathering all of the knowledge in the known world, that attracted the great minds for hundreds of years, where discoveries where made about the stars and planets. That place was the City of Alexandria (as in founded by Alexander the Great himself), who's library was so wo...
