We are called submit our lives, our will, our hearts to Christ’s word and the life He wants for us to live. Having said that, our amazing God nonetheless meets us right where we’re at. He doesn’t reject us simply because we’re...

Our first story in John is not only “the first sign” or “miracle” of Jesus, but it reminds us of yet another miracle He brings to our lives all the time. Jesus is interested in our family life! Yes, making water turn into the best wine available is amazing and wonderful and proves that Jesus is not just some “magician” but is in fact, God Almighty in the flesh. But notice that God Almighty in the...

This week we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit as it was given to Jesus’ disciples at Pentecost. The disciples are all together in one place and after receiving the Holy Spirit they are empowered to take the message of Jesus to the streets. They leave the safety and comfort of their home and powerfully speak to the truth of who Jesus is and what He has done. This week, like the early disciples...

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15 that the last enemy to be destroyed will be death itself. In the resurrection of Jesus, we know that death has most certainly been defeated; and yet, until the day Jesus returns, we will live in the shadow of that enemy. This week we will be encouraged and empowered to not live our lives in the shadow of death but in the shadow of the cross and empty tomb. Jesus c...

What an amazing gift the Word of God is in our lives. A collection of writings that have been written, preserved and given to us by the Spirit of God Himself. While we know the power and importance of scripture, we also live in a hyper-distracted world with countless forms of entertainment at the tip of our fingers constantly. There is a war that has been waged for our attention, our focus and ult...

As a society we take great pride in our personal rites, our individual dreams, and our ability to accomplish things on our own. This week we will be reminded that we have indeed been rescued from a life that is predominately concerned with ME into a life that is now concerned for the WE. The WE is the body of Christ on earth that we have been baptized into through the grace and love of Jesus. We h...

As followers of Jesus we have been empowered for a bold, brave and courageous life of faith as we take the love that has been given to us and give that love away to others.
