Point of Grace Church

Daily Pause

Pause is the learned art of stopping to immerse in the presence of God and untangle from the demands of life. Pause frees our souls to breathe the fresh air of God's grace, even if just for a minute - this is active restoration. Welcome to the Daily Pause. The Daily Pause is a 10 minute daily devotional tool freshly designed each day by Point of Grace church near Austin Texas to help us intentionally pause and breathe - immerse and untangle. The goal is that Monday - Friday we would take time to actively participate in this foundational restoration practice.

John 10:11-15 (Jesus—the Good Shepherd—Can Lead You Out of Worry and Anxiety because He Protects You) 11 I am the Good Shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs aways because he is a hire...

Psalm 139:1-6,23-24 (Jesus—the Good Shepherd—Can Lead You Out of Worry and Anxiety because He Knows You) 1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and be...

Psalm 23 (Jesus—the Good Shepherd—is the Answer for the Worried and Anxious Heart) 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, the...

Selected verses

August 6, 2026 - Ezekiel 34:1-12 06.08.2026

The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. You have not...

August 5, 2026 - Hebrews 10:19-25 05.08.2026

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscien...

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.

August 3, 2026 - John 10:7-10 03.08.2026

Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

July 31, 2026 - 2 Corinthians 4:4-6 31.07.2026

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowle...

July 30, 2026 - Matthew 4:12-17 30.07.2026

When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he withdrew to Galilee. Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:“Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on thos...

July 29, 2026 - 1 John 1:1-7 29.07.2026

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may...

July 28, 2026 - John 1:1-9 28.07.2026

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witnes...
