Counterflow with Buck Johnson

The Democrats, the media and some Republicans have removed any secrecy to the fact that they are thirsty for more blood. Now, the boogieman we should attack immediately is RUSSIA and (gasp) PUTIN. How dare Trump actually meet with such a vile terrorist, they say. We were attacked! Weapons of mass destruction all over again.  Some are calling their meeting to discuss peace an actual act of treason....

The leftists were already out in force *before* Trump named his next Supreme Court nominee. Where can you find an honest sophistry-free take on Judge Kavanaugh's nomination? Right here on Death To Tyrants! We discuss his takes on abortion, the fourth amendment, terrorism and more. Share the show! "Like" us at www. They NY Times recently published a story on conservatives now "weaponizing" free speech. The claim is that progressives need to be skeptical of free speech absolutism. In the 60s, liberals were the champions of free speech. Today, the modern left is anti free speech and even the NY Times is saying that free speech is a libertarian issue now. Well duh. It always has been. Here's the articles I disc...

White House Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders was recently asked to leave a restaurant due to her politics. Maxine Waters is pushing for businesses and people, in general, to use segregation as a weapon once again. A gay couple demanded that a Christian cake decorator be forced at gunpoint to bake and decorate their wedding cake. What does all of this mean for libertarians? We have a simple...

Bernie Sanders tells us that we should be more like Sweden, Denmark and Norway. He softens his old beloved term socialism by calling it "democratic socialism" as if blending two awful terms makes one great term. We explain what kind of government actually exists in Scandinavia and what Bernie and his ilk actually long for. Caution: socialism is violent and ugly.  Links to related articles:  https:...

This week we have Aaron Pomerantz back on the show. Aaron is a social psychology grad student and is a frequent guest on the show. This week, we discuss his two latest articles:  https://fee.org/articles/rising-above-shame-based-identity-politics/ https://fee.org/articles/the-psychological-phenomenon-behind-the-partisan-response-to-roseanne-barr-and-samantha-bee/ Identity politics, shame, guilt, R...

Tommy Robinson has been imprisoned for reporting on what is a very controversial topic in the UK. A topic that the press has been forbidden to cover. Why are judges in England disallowing free speech? Why is Tommy Robinson in jail? What has happened to England? They are experiencing 1984 like you may not even realize.  Find us at www.facebook.com/deathtotyrantspodcast  follow me on twitter @buckre...

Bernie Sanders has gone off the rails once again. His new "plan" is to create a government job for every unemployed person in America. That's somewhere around 13 million people. It gets better. So far, he admits that they don't know how to pay for it. Yes. You read that correctly. So, lets talk about it. Thank you for the support.  "Like" us at www.facebook.com/deathtotyrantspodcast.com Follow me...

We are morally opposed to the income tax. However, if we are coerced into it, would you rather be able to choose where it goes? How would adding in some amount of choice into a system of force look? Would certain agencies and programs disappear? We discuss all of this and more with our guest Theodore from www. Crowdfundedgovernment.com  You can also find him on Twitter @Crowdfundedgov Find us at w...

This week on Death To Tyrants, we discuss the Non Aggression Principle, which is the bedrock of libertarianism. It can be logically and consistently applied as can the property rights theory of which it is paired with. Many people are still confused as to what libertarianism actually is so we cover the philosophy behind it and how we apply iy issues like the income tax and the drug war. Thank you...

Is a US war against Syria a sure thing now? What about WW3? The left has been pushing for war with Russia for over a year now. The right says something must be done to Assad and the Syrian government. Why are libertarians the only ones left who oppose mass human slaughter? We are principled and therefor anti consequentialist. We remain strong against the wars in the Middle East, the war on drugs a...

There will be an economic downturn at some point in our future. Before it happens, we discuss the actual causes of economic booms and busts. Charlatans will blame markets, deregulation or whatever other fallacy they can throw at you. Arm yourself with the truth and be ready to explain it to those who spread lies. Plus, Buck discusses the fascistic nature of Antifa.  https://fee.org/articles/the-de...

Today on Death To Tyrants, we bring Aaron Pomerantz back to the show. He's a writer and social psychology graduate student at Oklahoma University. He gives us a view of the March For Life through a social psychological lens. Aaron uses what is known as "construal level theory" to look at the March in a way you may not have looked at it yet. We get into gun control, collectivism and the many fascin...

This week we discuss the Austin Bomber. Why did the charlatans and carnival barkers insist on their fallacious narratives regarding the victims and then the bomber himself? Speaking of bombs, Donald Trump has named none other than infamous warmonger and historically idiotic neocon, John Bolton as his National Security Advisor. How does this man continue to be employable? He's been wrong on literal...

Socrates was considered the antithesis of the Sophists in his day. Now more than ever, we are bombarded by Sophistry on a weekly, daily even hour by hour basis. What has happened to well reasoned arguments and logic in todays political environment? We discuss that and relate it to two different articles. One on the fallacies of the gun control argument and the other on the leftist hatred for free...

States Rights! Nullification! Secession! Just what you'd expect to hear from.....PROGRESSIVES IN CALIFORNIA?! Actually, yes. Progressives finally believe in local governance and nullification. All it took was Donald Trump to turn politics on its head and we are now in Bizarro World. And if that wasn't enough, just months after Republicans touted tax CUTS, they now want tariffs which, well, are jus...

Getting rid of guns *and* due process?? It sounds like a progressive utopia. Or is it just another crazy thing that came out of Trump's mouth? We discuss that plus positive vs negative rights, tax cuts and the non aggression principle. PLUS- I actually have some very kind words for none other than Bernie Sanders. That RARELY happens- so tune in!!  Go "like" our page at www.facebook.com/deathtotyra...

Brilliant foreign policy mind and author Scott Horton joins us to discuss the longest war in US history, the War In Afghanistan. When did it start? Why are we there? What does victory look like? Why were we at war everyday of the Obama administration? When will it end? We go over all of this PLUS some discussion about the left's obsession with war against Russia. Also, we go over the crisis in Yem...

Today we chat with Aaron Pomerantz, a bright young social psychology  graduate student at Oklahoma University. He wrote a very good article  discussing the idealogical language divide in our current political climate and the origins of "symbolic racism". It's all too common today that when one disagrees with a policy, they immediately use the ubiquitous "R" word. That is a shortcut to intellect an...

Net neutrality isn't as hot of a topic today as it was a month or so ago but to many people, there is still a lot of confusion about what it really is and was. Also, we discuss FISA. What is it and WHY would they vote to renew it? We end with some book recommendations for anyone interested in the ideas of liberty or economics. And then, a quick discussion of Dr Jordan Peterson.

Today we have Richard Lorenc from www. FEE.org  here to discuss his article entitled Twelve Economic Concepts Everyone Should Know. FEE is a great organization that I highly recommend you check out.
