Chi Spirits Guys

It's all about blending in this week's episode as the guys try Bardstown Bourbon Company and some of their complicated blends. They start with the distillate and expand out to see what one of the more sophisticated distilleries in the business can do. Podcast mascot Cruz also pays a visit to the studio.

The guys check out Great Lakes Distillery out of Milwaukee, WI. A craft distillery that has won some significant awards, showcases the terroir of their home state and makes one particular expression that is unlike anything you've ever had before. 

The guys are joined again by unofficial Four Roses expert Kuba in an effort to deep dive all 10 recipes that make up Four Roses. In Part 1 they examine the 5 higher rye recipes, the Bs. They try a barrel proof single barrel of each recipe and find out just how different each piece of the Four Roses puzzle can be.

The guys are visiting St. Lucia again (in spirit) and exploring the expressions of Chairman's Reserve. The extra special final bottle they try was procured by producer Jenny. She risked her life to get it...was it worth it?  Find out on this episode.

Summer is here! The guys chose 6 beers from different breweries that are specific to the summer season. They taste through them to try and determine what is this year's quintessential summer beer. Producer Jenny recently traveled to Houston and visited 8th Wonder Distillery. They started out as a brewery but have since added distilling spirits to their repertoire. The guys taste through their lineup and see what this up and coming local (to Houston) distillery has to offer.  

One of the midwest's premier distilleries is on display this week. The guys taste through and break down a wide variety of Journeyman expressions (of which they make a lot) and recount their recent trip to the Journeyman distillery in Three Oaks Michigan.  Oh, and Kitty is back this week!

The guys check out one of the biggest names in bourbon, Four Roses. They're joined by some special guests to sample the iconic brand's main lineup and explore the history that led them to where they are today.

The guys are back talking agave again. This week they discuss the critically acclaimed Tequila Fortaleza. Newcomer Jake joins the show to give his insight and help decide which of these bottles from their lineup live up to their reputation. 

.This week the guys check out the category of American Single Malt Whiskey with Oregon based Westward Whiskey. Special guests Kitty and Daniel are back to help analyze some of this brand's unique expressions and discuss how they're doing things differently than your average American whiskey maker.

In this week's action packed episode the guys checkout the Indiana juggernaut known as Starlight. To aid them on this journey they've enlisted the help of unofficial Starlight brand ambassador and the host of the wildly popular Whiskey Written show, Jake. He leads the guys through some of the many unique expressions and finishes that this Indiana distillery has to offer.

The guys are joined by some special guests to talk about a subject very near and dear to their hearts, Foursquare Rum. The group dives deep on 7 different expressions from ages ranging form 3 years to 16 years. Will this quintessential Barbados rum live up to the hype? Spoiler alert...the answer is yes. There are some promiscuous bottles in this lineup.

The guys scratch the surface of one of (if not the) premier names in the bourbon game, Buffalo Trace. They explore a few of the different brands under the BT umbrella and compare some expressions to find out just how real the hype is. Don't worry, they also saved room for dessert.

This week it's an all ladies episode of the show taking a look at Maker's Mark. Producer Jenny and company break down the brand's main lineup giving you the in depth tasting info you deserve. They get into tasting notes, cocktail uses and even a cheese pairing or two.

On this extra special episode the Guys deep dive into the overlooked category of Peanut Butter Whiskey. They break down 6 unique brands and give some honest feedback on each. There's also a spirited discussion over go to first date spots and the glorious majesty of Publix.

This week the guys are joined by a very special first time guest. They discuss some of the different expressions of Dewar's Scotch Whisky. The panel go off on a tangent or two in this one while deep diving the notes of these blended scotches then wrap it up by answering your mailbag questions.

This week the guys discuss Fort Lauderdale, Florida's oldest distillery, South Florida Distillers. There is a lot of rum involved which is always a good thing.
