You have heard phrases like Don't judge a book by its cover, there's more than meets the eye, not all that glitters is gold and on goes the list. What are they conveying that appearances may not reflect the true nature of something. That is the case in Revelation 3, as we meet with the church at Sardis and the church at Laodicea. They had reputations, seen as something, when in reality f...

This Sunday is very special as we will gather together for a (Night Of Worship style) Sunday morning service highlighted with Testimony, Blessing, Praying, and Sending our own Pastor Joe and Mikalia Daniels. We are so excited with them as God has swung a wide door of opportunity for them to minister and build the Kingdom of God in Pensacola, Florida.

If the church is anything in the world, it is God’s holy people. Churches should be known by how they exalt right and how they condemn wrong. Churches should be known for speaking out against sin and pursuing godliness. But in our day, as in other days, that is not always the standard; and it wasn’t the standard in the church in Thyatira. We have to keep our minds guarded against manipulation and...

Give and take, finding a win-win outcome and going along to get along are common principles in modern society. Compromise is a big, big deal in the world where we live. What about with our faith? When should we compromise and when should we stand firm in our beliefs, convictions and actions? The people of the Church at Pergamos faced many of these same questions in the first century. Join us this...

The STRUGGLE is real - you have heard it, you have said it, and you have felt it. This 2nd letter written to the church at Smyrna, identifies a church with real, constant, daily struggles. It is difficult to grasp what they awakened to each day, for most of us have never really been persecuted in a way to cause us to fear for life, property, or family. In this life our struggles may look very diff...

Is it possible to withstand pressure and even endure much opposition for the faith and yet lose love for the reason of the faith? Apparently, it is. Have you ever had the wind knocked out of you? The Church at Ephesus has many good and admirable qualities yet one little, tiny, word changes the tone of an encouraging letter. Nevertheless is a word that carries much weight. Revelation 2:5 states, &q...

Family, widows and orphans, right sex, government and racial equality are great things to contend for, but the purpose of contending should always be the glory of the Lord. God’s glory is one of the central themes of scripture and as the “Contend” series closes this week, we hope you will join us as we take a look at how to Contend for God’s Glory.

What is something that gets you really pumped? Maybe it's a hobby, or a sport's team, or time with loved ones. When we love a person or idea enough we will passionately fight for it. Have you ever been in a place where you could not stand idly by while something happened without interjecting. For Jude, he wanted to write his letter and go one direction, but because of the spread of false...

It is election season. Does that small phrase compel you to feel certain emotions? In the pages of the Bible we see many forms of government with every style of leader and a myriad of resulting circumstances.  Paul said in Romans 13:1, Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God. Peter said, we must obey God rather than man, so what do we do wh...

All you have to do is open a major news publisher and you will see headlines with themes of racism. Culture is deeply in need clarity on the way we see other people? Gen 1:27, says God made man in His own image. Every person you see was created by God to bear his image, and deserves to be treated with decency and respect. This means that all people merit the right to be seen for who they are: imag...

Do you remember your deepest dread, your destitute hour, your darkest adversity? There are 15.2 million people who have lost a spouse in the US, and est. 150 million orphans worldwide. The Bible says in James 1:27, "Pure religion and undefiled is to care for widows and orphans in their time of distress. It is of utmost urgency that the Church of God be the banner carrier for people who are wa...

Believe it or not the Bible is the original guidebook for Sex. God created sex for a male and female to be enjoyed within the covenant of marriage. God planned, designed, and designated sex for the great pleasure of his creation and it should be discussed. If you were brought up in the 1980's those statements were taboo and certainly rarely heard at home or church. A generation did a really w...

We are living in a time in which the enemy, the Father of lies, has people on every side wondering who is telling the truth, is there actual truth, can anyone or any message be trusted as truth. Now more than ever in the name of the Way, the Truth, and the Life, the church must Contend. We will be peering into the scriptures the next 6 weeks to understand specifically what we as a church should st...

We are so privileged to get to worship together this Sunday. Sunday is a very special day at CCW. We will be celebrating the ordination of Pastor Dave Roper. It is going to be an awesome service as Pastor Dave will be sharing his testimony and cal...

Come, now is the time to worship, is a worship song popularized in the 90's with its anthem, "Come now is the time to worship, come now is the time to give your heart, come just as you are to worship." Have you ever felt like you had nothing left to give just worn utterly thin? Doerksen described the song's roots as a time in a dark season just barely hanging onto his faith and...

The Olympic season is upon us and on the world's stage the greatest athletes are competing to be crowned the gold and in many cases the outcomes are determined by fractions. I'm sure that many athletes will leave thinking if I would have just done this differently or that differently. If I could just have it to do again. What would you do if you could turn back time? That is a big questi...

This Sunday we are celebrating our 12th anniversary! Wow, has CCW come a long way from a stewardship dream in the mind of a Godly businessman. In the hand of a mighty God, these 12 years He has provided land, buildings, parking lots, fields, and a church family - but most importantly, He has continued steadfastly proving His presence! When I think of CCW, I can't help but think it is a place...

The Tour De France is one of my family's favorite sporting events of the year. Hundreds of cyclists take on thousands of miles of the Pyrenees and the Alps mountains over 21 stage races over 3 weeks with no other propulsion system than the muscles in their legs. One of the most fascinating stages that takes place during the Tour is the individual time trial. Your standard race stage is simple...

In the late 1980's early 90's an anthem was everywhere. It was on poster's with smiley faces, t-shirts, and bumper stickers and it was sung by Bobby McFerrin called "Don't Worry Be Happy." I bet if you remember it you might be whistling it right now. We live in a day and age filled with things that worry people. Our American culture works at a breakneck pace trying to...

In 2001 Destiny’s child wrote a hit song called “Survivor” and as a kid I remember hearing it everywhere! The car radio, MTV, kids singing it, and even my older brother's CD player! It was an anthem to everyone who had ever been through something in life! I believe King David would have had it on his apple music playlist considering all that happened in his life! This week our scripture we wi...

There are particular activities throughout the pages of scripture that suggest an impression was made on the Lord. If you thought there was a secret way to get the attention of the Lord for help wouldn't you want to know exactly what that was? Psalms 34, is a Psalm of Deliverance in which the Psalmist portrays key ideas that lead us to the working hand of God. At CCW, we sing a song of worshi...

Bill Withers penned an anthem that has soothed the hearts of generations for over half a century. He committed his feelings to paper based on the backdrop of a rural upbringing in a tight-knit family town and traversing to a new place, longing for a friend to call on. That 1972 #1 hit is entitled "Lean on Me." Psalms 23 is the most famous Psalm and could be disputed as one of the most kn...

Do you remember when you bought a CD, tape, or album labeled the greatest hits? That meant you were getting the very best of your favorite music. The Book of Psalms is filled with sacred songs and poetry. The portrait of worship in the Psalms offers us glimpse after glimpse of hearts aligned to God, individuals repentant before Him, and lives transformed through experiences with Him. It is the Gre...

For those men lucky enough to be called by the title Dad, it is a high honor and a great responsibility. The only thing of this world that carries on when you leave is what you've given of yourself to others and the only thing that goes on to eternity is the others you've impacted for Christ.  This Sunday we will be celebrating Father's Day by hearing from one of the most impactful...

Belt of truth? Check. Breastplate of righteousness? Yep. Feet shod with preparation of the gospel of peace? Laced up tight. Shield of faith? Uh huh. Helmet of salvation? You bet. Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God? In hand. And then? Uh….. We have spent the last two months discussing taking up, girding and putting on the armor of God. But what about after you’re all armored up? What next...
