Just when we thought Advent was ruined, "Captain Save a Christmas" himself, former child star and current Christian cinema kingpin Kirk Cameron is back with another banger. KIRK CAMERON'S SAVING CHRISTMAS is just one of a series of docudramas Kirk Cameron helmed in the 2010s. Our favorite is his masterpiece KIRK CAMERON'S CONNECT, a bizarre piece that combines interviews and dramatizations to expl...

In this Christian courtroom drama, Jesus is found GUILTY… of being resurrected from the dead so that we may have eternal life. Bakersfield, California based auteur Barry Zoeller clearly called upon his skills as a TV news anchor and producer to create this competent and well-paced retelling of Bible times events in the modern day. At the moment THE PROSECUTOR appears to be Mr. Zoeller's only featu...

This Christian film with a steampunk aesthetic is notable for its cast made up entirely of kids. Joel and Lisa Steege and their seven children create films as Little Crew Studios. Their most recent work is 2016's THE DEFENSE OF NEW HAVEN, an adventure story set in a fictional society where masked Raiders are sowing chaos and disappearing innocent civilians. When protagonist Alec is caught in the c...

Muslim extremists encounter extra-dimensional demons while developing a new strain of bacterial meningitis to use for bioterrorism in this harebrained Christian sci-fi/horror film by auteur Jim Carroll, who rose to viral fame in 2020 for his similarly conceptually ambitious film ASSASSIN 33 A.D., in which Muslim extremists go back in time to kill Jesus before He can be crucified and resurrected. I...

A plucky art student is kidnapped by satanists and involuntarily impregnated with the cloned embryo of the antichrist in this compelling, overwhelming, and unintentionally hilarious supernatural thriller. THE DEVIL CONSPIRACY is not the family-friendly type of Christian movie we tend to cover on our show; it's decidedly R-rated for strong language and disturbing body horror. However, the plot is f...

The Jehovah's Witnesses are possibly the superior filmmakers of all the Christian denominations. Although much of their process is shrouded in secrecy since they never provide production information, there is clearly a sophisticated filmmaking operation in place at the Watch Tower Society, with professional-grade actors, writers, and technicians putting their talents together to reinforce the mess...

This over-the-top yet underrated Christian boxing film is a who's who of some of our favorite creators in the faith-based genre. The ever-present Kevin Sorbo co-stars as a burned out boxing coach. TC Stallings, who stars in the Kendrick Brothers' high-grossing relationship drama WAR ROOM (2015), is in the ONE MORE ROUND ensemble as a hulking rival boxer. However, the names we're most excited to se...

This grim yet colorful gem from the prolific Mark IV Pictures is one of the most revered and feared Christian movies of all time, for good reason. For many millennials who grew up Christian, A THIEF IN THE NIGHT was a foundational movie shown in church that introduced them to the terrifying immediacy of the apocalypse. Its snappy vignettes and powerful messaging that targets children left a strong...

Hollywood is a vortex of evil, depravity, and abuse. Actors are not who they say they are — except of course for certain actors, who say the things I want to hear, so they are exactly who they say they are. A certain 1998 interview clip with Mel Gibson has been viral recently, with commenters breathlessly lauding the actor for revealing disturbing truths about the inner workings of Hollywood. Gibs...
