Below The Dot: A Degrassi Podcast

Robberies are on the rise at Degrassi Community School so the students are lucky that their local detective, Emma Nelson is on the case. Determined to avenge the loss of her stepfather's stolen Alienware laptop, Emma believes she is closing in on a likely suspect. Will Emma be able to recover the stolen goods? Will she catch the culprit and end the robberies once and for all? Will Sean finally pay...

Listenters, we have finally arrived to Chris Sharpe's favorite holiday mess. This may be the only holiday TV episode that I have ever enjoyed. Love is in the air in the Jeremiah household, but you might get lost between the TWO love triangles. Will Joey pick Sidney or Caitlin? Will Craig pick Manny or Ashley? Listen to find out who gets chosen and who gets chucked in this two part holiday special....

TW: partner abuse. This week of Degrassi reminds Chris Sharpe of why she cannot stand JT's smug little face. Meanwhile, Jimmy tried to tell everyone from the jump that something wasn't right about Rick, and y'all are about to find out. Tune in to find out for yourself, or at least to participate in some trivia.

Minding your business is free 99 but Emma would much rather throw her coins away. Speaking of throwing something, Manny is out in these Degrassi streets looking like a clown, throwing herself at Craig who is running at full force into his villain era.  Meanwhile, inquiring minds need to know: fellas, is it gay to live? Spinner would rather choke on string cheese than allow Marco to perform a...

TW: Self-harm. In Whisper to a Scream, viewers witness Ellie's battle with self-harm whilst elsewhere at Degrassi, love is in the air for Terri McGregor. Joke is on anyone who's rooting for Terri in this plot line. It turns out her storyline is the true whisper to a scream that we weren't expecting. Tune in this week to hear our thoughts, or listen on mute in order to protect yourselves.

This title is a bold-faced lie because Craig absolutely needs to lie if he would like to keep his current girl, and gain himself a new one. Meanwhile on Degrassi Street, Snake is feeling miserable and trying to find some company by bringing everyone down around him. Spike has had enough so she sends him to the bowling alley with some old friends to get it together. Tune in this week to find out ho...

In this week's episode of Degrassi, we realize how flimsy high school relationships can be (both friendship and romantic) when both parties don't take time to take care of each other. Is splitsville in the air for Emma & Sean? Who stole Mr. Simpson's laptop? Why did JT have a sexy dream about someone, and is it foreshadowing? Tune in to hear our thoughts as Chris fumbles through remembering wh...

TW: In this episode we discuss topics which cover homophobia and a cancer storyline.  Degrassi finally has started going there this week. Marco explores his sexuality a little more in depth, much to the upset of Spinner (who Terri identifies is entering his villain era). Meanwhile, we don't even get a palate cleanser in this episode because plot B covers Snake/Mr. Simpson's cancer diagnosis....

It has finally arrived: Chris & Terri recap the most iconic episode of Degrassi known to humans. This episode serves as inspiration for the common quote, "Manny Santos walked so Maddy Perez could run." Manny opts to change her look from cute to hot by wearing a thong which was seen around the world (kind of awkward being an adult watching this, but we briefly touch on this in the episode). Mea...

Welcome back, Degrassi Fandom. This week on Below the Dot, we have a special guest who goes by Manny Santos, IRL sister of Angie Jeremiah/Terri McGregor - basically, there's a lot of fun packed into this episode. We review and recap the one time when Emma took a 45 minute train to Stouffville, ON, Canada to find her biological father. Meanwhile at Degrassi, Spinner was playing Monopoly with locker...

Craig Manning walked so that Jennette McCurdy could run. In this (TW) season finale, we begin a long journey of grief and recovery in the life of Craig Manning. Meanwhile at Degrassi, Liberty bribes JT to go to the dance with her & Hazel & Jimmy go up against Spinner & Paige for the luau king & queen. Spoiler alert: neither of those couples wins the competition. Either way, tune in...

TW: In this episode we discuss the topic of rape. Chris & Terri are back on your airways to discuss Degrassi vs. Bardell take 2. This time Paige gives Dean her rah rah attitude and we can only hope that it helps to bring her some peace. Meanwhile, Ellie learns that she needs to become at peace with the things which she cannot change (what's that religious quote?). Join us this week to hear our...

Technological issues be damned, Chris & Terri are back on your airways this Throwback Thursday to recap the one time when Spinner stole Jimmy's MP3 player & Jimmy should've taken his way out of this friendship when he had the chance. IYKYK, & if you don't know, you're gonna find out in Time Stands Still. Meanwhile, Emma shows us where antivaxxers were born on her mission to remove GM f...

Welcome back for yet another episode of Below the Dot podcast! This week Chris & Terri (and grandmommy) recap Taming of the Shrew: Degrassi Edit. Jimmy keeps his opinion to himself in a way which almost screams, "I'm not okay with how you look," and Ashley picks up what he threw down. Speaking of picking things up, JT has to pick his ego off the floor when Spinner turns him into a human glow worm...

Chris & Terri are back from the Degrassi Black Hole to recap the one time Liberty wore a cape around Degrassi and Terri failed miserably at doing palm readings. Tune in to hear Terri's thoughts on Emma's hats and about the one time she managed to fail P.E. class (embarrassing, right?). This isn't your ordinary recap because Chris had to spice up this episode by channeling her alternative mind...

In this week's episode of Degrassi, Sean proves just how much of a bad boy he is while he drinks some cheap alcohol straight without a chaser after an embarrassing night of sushi at the Nelson household. Meanwhile, Jimmy & Spinner are pining after Ashley & Paige - but who pines after Terri? You'll find out next season, and you're not going to like it. Tune in this week to hear our thoughts on peop...

Chris & Terri are back from the blackhole to recap a very boring episode: the time when Spinner was musty & JT got motorboated by Toby. Even though the episode is quite boring, we find ourselves quite entertaining. Therefore, you should give us a listen & let us know your thoughts about the episode!

TW: Homophobia. Chris & Terri are back on your airways from below the dot, and this week we recap an episode where Marco explores his sexuality. Clouded by love, Toby ignores the advice of others and smothers Kendra into the black hole herself (which she won't enter until perhaps S3, idk). Listen to find out why we titled our episode "Whatever it Drakes" & to see if you can pass Trivia for Terri t...

TW: While unrelated to the topic of the episode, we begin discussing disordered eating plot lines & real life experiences of certain cast members. Chris & Terri are back for another episode of Below the Dot! This week a bundle of cells threatens the nuptials of Snake & Spike while Emma the menace reminds you that this threat does not go away once the creature is born. Meanwhile, JT &am...

TW: Racism/Islamophobia/Homophobia In this episode of Degrassi, we learn more about Hazel's background and how her past impacts how the treats other students at Degrassi. While Hazel is the leading lady of this episode, we are treated to several shining moments where everyone else reveals their (racist) sentiments. Meanwhile, we discover that JT has been hiding his sewing skills as it almost led t...

Welcome back, Degrassi Panthers! This week from Below the Dot, we recap Manny's first date & Ellie's use of anonymous emails to get Marco's attention. Will Hazel-the-Pick-Me derail Ellie's first chance at love? Will love prevail for Manny & Craig this round, or will their age gap get in the way? Tune in to find out.

TW: In this episode we discuss disordered eating habits for one of the characters.  Welcome back to this episode of Below the Dot! Chris & Terri discuss Toby's brief stint on the wrestling team and Terri's thriving modeling career. That's right - Terri is a model. As gorgeous as she is, she still struggles with self-worth and body image issues, so listen this week to find out how Terri overcomes h...

Terri is actually short for Terrible Hairstyles, not Therese. Aside from Terri's hair, in this week of Below the Dot we cover a sensitive topic, which is an episode where a rape occurs. While we won't be sharing sound clips from the event itself, we will be discussing the episode throughout and therefore some of you may need to skip this week in order to stay safe. Elsewhere at Degrassi, JT &...

In this week's episode of Degrassi TNG (Drive) Craig reminds Joey that he isn't his father, and Joey thanks his lucky stars but continues to do the lord's work and care for Craig anyway. This may be the first time we are saying this, but it will not be the last. Meanwhile on Degrassi street, Ellie reminds Ashley that she isn't like Paige so Ashley doesn't need to worry about impressing her. All ar...

It's Throwback Thursday & Chris & Terri have returned to your airways to tell you all about how healthy food has the potential to put you in the mood - or it does if you're Spinner Mason. You'll have to listen to find out his recipe for sex-cess (see what I did there?). Meanwhile at Degrassi, we discover that Emma caused all of Spinner's problems to occur - as Emma often does create problems. I'm...
