Bald Move Pulp

Another week, another strong episode of Foundation with S01E04. The mystery of Salvor Hardin continues to unfold as Terminus is threatened, but the real meaty stuff is once again happening on Trantor. And boy, do we sink our teeth in for a big ol' bite with another near-2-hour podcast. Join us for the podcast to hear our full thoughts on "Barbarians at the Gate." We really enjoyed the ambitious approach to storytelling that Foundation is employing in its third episode, "The Mathematician's Ghost". The themes resonant throughout both times and places and every plot point and character seems to be a lens that can be looked through both ends of to reveal two different images. Join us for a full recap and analysis of the episode. Hey there! Check out https://s...

Another pretty good episode from The Walking Dead. Maybe not every aspect, but they brought around the Maggie / Negan relationship well enough that we're able to look past its rocky start. Maybe the hardest pill to swallow this episode is the delay tactics happening in the commonwealth. There's a lot of people needing things to happen, asking for those things, and nearly getting those things only...

We're back for another round of listener feedback and there's a lot of good stuff in this one. Stuff that we overlooked. Stuff that we most definitely should have picked up on. Luckily you all did it for us. Check out the podcast for all the corrections. Apple released the first two episodes of their sci-fi epic "Foundation" this week and "epic" is exactly what they were. There are so many visual and narrative intricacies to dig into in these two hours of TV. That's probably why it took us as much time as Apple spent making the episodes, to properly cover them. Join us next week for a regular-sized episode. Leave Us A Review on Apple Podcasts Join...

The Walking Dead has put together a string of passable episodes, or maybe just lowered our expectations enough to make it seem so, and this episode is another example of that. We're about a week out from the premiere of the Apple TV+ epic sci-fi series, Foundation, which means it's time to talk about the trailers we've seen, our history with the source material, expectations for the series adaptation, and the format of our weekly coverage, among other things. Join us for the preview today and come back for our coverage of the first three episodes this Monday. Join the d...

I'd love to talk about Carol's impassioned plea to bring Aaron back from the brink, or how Eugene is the only sane one in the truly insane group of survivors who want to set up a new life in The Commonwealth, thereby completely abandoning the people they came to find help for, or how Negan is absolutely right and Maggie is a maniac on a suicide mission... but I can't. I'm so distracted by the new...

For an 80's sci-fi family movie, Flight of the Navigator holds up remarkably well. The child actor is great, the cutting-edge computer effects hardly show their age, and the plot is more well-considered than most movies of the era. That's probably why we were both so taken with it as children and remain nostalgic about it to this day. Thanks to Kira for commissioning our coverage of this very lite...

Alright, now that's better! The Walking Dead delivers a hit this week by running back the old ones. I think it's safe to say, based on the tone of the discussion, this is the episode everyone has been waiting for. CONTINUITY BABY! I suppose it could have been disappointing if you were holding out hope for a live-action episode starring Xtopher Lloyd, but it answers a lot of questions that we've had for seasons now and sets up some truly interesting possibilities for the future of Rick and Morty....

This is definitely the first part of a two-part season finale, but it sneaks up on you thanks to a pretty engaging plot involving Rick replacing Morty with a couple of crows. Personally, I think I'd rather have seen the "Half a Paul Giamatti" episode, but I enjoyed this one nonetheless. Check out the podcast to hear our thoughts. Thanks to Brian, we’ve got another commission this week. It’s the first and last episodes of Invincible season 1. You might not expect a bookended sampling of a series to work very well, but aside from not knowing a few of the side characters, I apparently missed out on almost nothing by skipping the other 6 episodes. Join us for a discussion of this animated deconstruction of the superhero genre....

The working title for this episode was allegedly "Garbage In, Garbage Out", which might have been more suitable given what we thought of the episode. There are a few redeeming qualities, but they sorta painted themselves into a corner last week, then doubled down with a few unforced errors. Join us for the podcast to hear just how bad we thought it was. A big thank you to Mysteriana for creating t...

Here it is. The final season! AMC is finally shooting The Walking Dead in the head to put it down once and for all. The only question is, will it go out with a violent gory splash and a mouthful of flesh, or will it lay down in the road and wither into a desiccated pile of bones? Check out the podcast to find out what kind of start it got off to. A big thank you to Mysteriana for creating the Watc...
