104 - A Royally Good Half Time Bollocking 22.11.2020 1:01:25
On Saturday, Cherries beat Reading 4 - 2 at Dean Court, and it was the archetypal game of two halves. Jason Tindall's half time dressing down did the trick, and the "bollocking" he gave the players (in the words of David Brooks) had the desired effect - better quality, more desire, and they were more clinical too. In this podcast, Sam Davis and Jeff Hayward dissect the game, and when you face cert...
103 - A Blues Cruise and A Cherries Muse 08.11.2020 1:11:43
As Cherries pulled our second 3-1 win out of the bag at St Andrews this season, we take a look at proceedings in Birmingham on Saturday, as the away side strolled to a convincing win, and finally saw a performance which boasted finesse and intensity. This week the panel includes Jeff Hayward, Tom Jordan, Neil Dawson and Sam Davis. Lockdown isn't a particularly easy time, but one organisation that...
102 - Roro Spares Cherry Blushes 02.11.2020 58:44
After Cherries dispatched of Bristol City in the week with a late winner, Derby County were next to visit, with Boscombe fans hoping that we could end a streak of seven games without a win against the Rams. However, a lacklustre showing sadly meant that the expected three points would only turn out to be one - adding to our never-ending tally of draws. However, it was great to see Rodrigo Riquelme...
101 - Room 101? - It’s An Unbeaten Run! 25.10.2020 1:00:48
With monologues being readied to describe a match which might have been consigned to Room 101, a certain Chris Mepham stepped up to tear up the script and secure a point for AFC Bournemouth, continuing this season's unbeaten run. In this podcast, we go over the match at Vicarage Road with a fine toothcomb. Were we lucky to have 11 men on the pitch? Were Watford? Was the outcome correct? And why ar...
100 - And It's Live.... 18.10.2020 1:14:11
We've reached our centenary, so we thought we'd celebrate with a LIVE special! We've been podcasting on all things Cherries since 2016 and on Youtube since August 2019, and this show reviews our 4 years covering AFC Bournemouth, including the highs, the lows, and everything in between (including the draw with QPR on Saturday). Tonight, we chat about the future of the podcast with some people that...
99 - Same Old St Andrews 05.10.2020 1:04:02
Bournemouth have never lost at St Andrews, and on Friday night in front of the cameras, this records continued in style, as Cherries put in a solid performance which showed a lot of promise to overcome Coventry 3-1. Whilst the showing was strong, the same typical traits of having large spells of possession without scoring were evident, but whilst the Sky Blues equalised in the first half, the seco...
98 - Danjuma The Difference! 27.09.2020 59:06
Arnaut Danjuma proved the difference on Sunday in a resilient AFC Bournemouth performance which saw us overcome Norwich City 1-0, thanks to a superb turn and shot from our Dutch delight. The away side pressed relentlessly in the second half, but a steadfast showing from the Cherries helped us to hold on to all three points - condemning the Canaries to their second defeat of the season in all compe...
97 - The Bare Necessi-Tees 20.09.2020 58:35
At the weekend Cherries travelled to Teesside in a performance against Middlesbrough that garnered a point, but it could have been so much more. Instead Bournemouth displayed the bare necessities on the pitch, with a lacklustre performance showing against a side that were toying with Championship relegation just two months ago. Whilst a goal for Dom ensured that our attacking talisman got off the...
96 - Rovers Returned... But Three Points Earned 14.09.2020 1:09:28
Cherries got back to winning ways on Saturday at home to Blackburn Rovers in a satisfying performance which saw a tentative start, the usual Bournemouth mistakes, but then a return to kamikaze Cherries brand of football that we know, and (I think) love! If we get the points, people call it entertaining, if we don’t they call it reckless. Outscoring teams in order to win games! We called it! Rovers...
95 - Benfica Tests and Championship Guests 31.08.2020 1:04:50
AFC Bournemouth's pre-season finally got under way on Sunday against a team with plenty of European pedigree by the way of Portugese side Benfica. Whilst Cherries went down 2-1, there was a mixture of encouraging signs twinned with the familiarity of some "same old Bournemouth" moments - we wouldn't have it any other way would we? To dissect matters on the pitch, Sam Davis speaks to Tom Jordan and...
94 - Cries & Goodbyes As Cherries Downsize 18.08.2020 54:48
Once again it's been a busy weekend in the world of AFC Bournemouth, with Cherries "reluctantly" accepting a bid of £18.5 million for Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United, plus the news that club legends Andrew Simon and Simon Francis have left the club. is this JT putting his stamp on the club early doors? Some see it as bonkers, and others are more in tune with JT's approach. On a more positive...
93 - Can Succession Mean Progression? 10.08.2020 1:09:10
So.. it's Tindall then! Famed for his tan, his touchline tantrums, and perhaps forgettably - The Terras - Eddie's number two has become number one. Cherries fans *seemed* to have mixed emotions about the appointment - as whilst the majority wanted the continuity of Howe, the jury was out about continuance that Tindall could bring. On this show, we take in some raw reaction from a number of fans wh...
92 - Eddie Had A Dream, Will We Have A Nightmare? 02.08.2020 1:18:00
Eddie Had A Dream, but on Saturday evening, the majority of Cherries fans had a nightmare. Emotion has been raw this weekend after the news was announced that Eddie Howe has left AFC Bournemouth by mutual consent. The 42-year-old, who managed the Cherries in more than 450 games across two spells at Vitality Stadium spanning more than a decade, made the decision together with club officials on Satu...
91 - The End Of An Era 26.07.2020 1:07:35
On Sunday, Bournemouth's 5 year stint in the Premier League came to an end after a survival Sunday showdown which saw Aston Villa claim the point they needed to ensure their Premier League safety. Whilst Bournemouth overcame Everton in a convincing 1-3 win, factors elsewhere meant that we would finish 18th - no longer being able to claim that we are a side that has never been relegated from the to...
90 - On The Precipice 19.07.2020 55:10
Sometimes, I simply wish I didn't like football. Saints professionally dispatched of Bournemouth 2-0 at the Vitality with goals from Che Adams and former Cherry Danny Ings on Sunday, and whilst a dominant first half display looked promising for the home side - two clinical moments at the end of each half helped to adjust the chances of Premier League survival from slim to non-existent. For Saints,...
89 - The Feet Of Iniesta 13.07.2020 48:33
In terms of placing moments in the box labelled "things you never thought you'd see", AFC Bournemouth's fall from grace this season is probably up there - however did you ever think the names Dominic Solanke and Andrés Iniesta would be mentioned in the same breath? No, I thought not... but, someone Sky Sports managed to do that as Bournemouth pummelled Leicester 4-1 at Dean Court. Boscombe gave th...
88 - A "Good" Defeat? 05.07.2020 1:10:51
Whilst Cherries lost 5-2 at Manchester United this weekend, you can’t say it was gutless, and you can’t say that the players didn’t care, but once again, our tactical inadequacies were exposed, and whether that’s down to the individuals on the pitch or the man who instructs them is yet to be known. But, is there room for room for optimism? Possibly! But the fact there are only five games to go lea...
87 - I Know We Loved The Championship But... 28.06.2020 47:31
...surely we don't want to return there? Well, if you speak to fans of Bournemouth, Watford, West Ham and Aston Villa - there is unanimous consensus that their respective clubs do not seem to have the urgency to retain Premier League football. Poor, insipid results, twinned with an-over polite "no you go first" approach in attempting to usher their rivals to be the first to pick up three points. W...
86 - Do They Know We're Eighteenth?! 21.06.2020 58:16
Cherries returned to Premier League football on Saturday, live in front of the nation - but lost 0-2 to a well organised Crystal Palace side who barely had to get out of second gear to claim the victory against us. Most AFC Bournemouth supporters were looking forward to the must win match, but ultimately were distraught at another Dean Court horror show - with many fans revisiting a familiar feeli...
Warren Cummings & Brian Stock – The Highs And Lows 18.06.2020 1:17:44
We're joined by Warren Cummings & Brian Stock, two players who graced the Cherries shirt for over 16 years between them. One a midfield maestro, the other an attacking full-back - they both found regular first-team football at Bournemouth, going through some lows and highs both on and off the pitch. Was Sean O'Driscoll ahead of his time? What was Warren's relationship like with Kevin Bond. Was Jim...
Tommy Heffernan – “I’d Have Broke Both His Legs” 18.06.2020 1:01:37
Some forthright and strongly worded views from one of the legends of the 80’s – Tommy Heffernan. A marauding full-back with a license to score, a man whose tackles made the whole crowd wince and a man who was in the supporters club after every game getting a round in for the fans. The last full-back to score double figures in a league season and a man who loved our club so much he joined it twice...
Ian Bishop – My Rock And Roll Season At AFC Bournemouth 16.06.2020 1:59:07
We're joined by Cherries midfield maestro Ian Bishop, who, despite his short time at the club, has been described by John Williams as the best natural talent he has played with. "Bish" played 54 games for us in the season after promotion back in 1988, and helped Bournemouth to their highest ever league finish at the time. He went on to have lengthy spells at Manchester City and West Ham - before r...
Yann Kermorgant – The Premier League Regret 15.06.2020 1:13:21
We are delighted to bring you Yann Kermorgant, a player who, despite the relatively short time at the club, is synonymous with the club's success - as his goals and set-ups were a huge part of our Championship winning campaign. He joined us half-way through our first Championship season, enabling us to finish in a solid 10th spot, but in his first full season, he scored 17, assisted many more, and...
Steve Fletcher – Overcoming Adversity 14.06.2020 1:54:23
The word "legend" is often over-used, but Steve Fletcher encompasses the spirit of AFC Bournemouth - with a determination to overcome adversity. His own footballing path wasn't easy, but a combination of loyalty and resolve led to a career which has been littered with outstanding moments, both as an individual but also as a team. Scoring play-off final openers, gracing Wembley, and netting momento...
Brett Pitman – The Disastrous Spell I’ll Never Forget 14.06.2020 1:04:43
