Apologetics Archives - Stand Up For The Truth Podcast

The human mind, created beautifully by God but corrupted by sin, is subject to believing lies are truth if the lie is reinforced often enough.  Today's generation of young people have been continuously lied to by Hollywood, the media, and a public education system that denies the glory of God. Too many are being indoctrinated into a life of futility and hopelessness because they are looking for me...

We all get frustrated or disappointed with life at times.  Things do not go as well as we think they should or as well as we think we deserve.  The world tells us we can have our "best life now" and that the world is there for our pleasure and enjoyment, and when it doesn't work out that way we feel the frustration of life's daily challenges and obstacles. As disciples of Jesus Christ our attitude...

Where can we get the truth about attacks against Israel? Are they provoking these attacks? In the last 24 hours, more than 600 rockets have been fired at Israel from Gaza. The death toll is rising. And it seems what often makes the news is when Israel retaliates. The U.S. is moving a powerful naval armada into the Middle East to send a strong message to Muslim nations should they consider attackin...

Born-again believers and disciples of Jesus Christ have been saved and granted eternal life with God through our belief and faith in the gospel and Jesus Christ.  Yet we are told in God's Word that we are to have a "fear of the Lord" even as believers.  We are also told he is our "abba Father" and that we can approach His throne with confidence.  So what is a correct "fear of the Lord" in the life...

Anyone can say they're a Christian. If you ask most Americans, including our politicians, they will probably say they "believe" in Jesus.  But if we don't take the time to ask them exactly what they think about Jesus or who they believe He is, we can't possibly know for certain if they are converts or counterfeits.  Progressive "Christians" claim they are doing the work Jesus commanded us to do. ...

We are fresh off of Easter weekend as many of us celebrated the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ---God in the flesh who shed His blood for our redemption.  He has freed us from the power of death and sin.  But with the simple yet profound message of the gospel, many Christians are still often confused about what this life should look like.  Did Jesus die so I could be healthy, wealth...

The only thing that never changes is God; everything else is in a constant flux of change:  sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. The professing Christian Church in America has gone through a gradual change over the past several decades as secular culture has slowly infiltrated and influenced it.  As secular culture, public education, media, and an increasingly powerful government...

The life of a disciple of Jesus Christ can be complex at times.  The Bible tells us we should trust God in all matters.  It says we can approach the throne of God in confidence with our petitions.  And yet it also says to fear God.  Trust, confidence and fear:  Not always easy to reconcile all three of those, yet this is the life we are called to as believers, particularly in a world that increasi...

Two facts are indisputable these days. First, the world is growing more evil. Darkness is increasing and God's Word is being openly mocked and ridiculed. The second fact is too many believers, people who profess to be Christians, are ignorant of the truth of God's Word. This leads to being ineffective in bearing fruit, living the Christian life and sharing the gospel of salvation with others.  Thi...

A deadly fall down a mountain usually begins with a single careless step.  And once we take that wrong step, the fall can be swift and lead to serious injury or death.  It is no different with our eternal souls - and the souls of others.  A single serious misstep of twisting God's Word to appeal to our flesh can often lead to deception or even a fall. Deceived or deceivers? Today, Mike and David c...

There is only one true God, but that has never stopped people from trying to redefine Him or find other gods to worship.  Today, humanity seems bent on identifying a god that will suit their passions and beliefs rather than surrendering to the living God who created us and sustains us. He sent His Son to save us from our sin and the eternal damnation we deserve. We begin today tackling the contrad...

We open the podcast today with Mike giving a brief report on his experience this week at the National Religious Broadcasters convention in Anaheim, CA. Most people have heard of the idea of “Intelligent Design,” but there’s a lot of confusion and misinformation out there regarding this concept.  On today's podcast, we cover three areas such as defining Intelligent Design, and looking at the positive attributes as well as some of the concerns. Author and international speaker, Jay Seegert (The Starting Point Project) is back with us today to discu...

After two years of painstaking investigation and more than $25 million in taxpayer costs, Special Investigator Robert Mueller has concluded that, wait for it... President Trump did not collude with Russians to undermine our election system in 2016.  Talk about a dramatic "thud." That should be the end to all this, but as we know, it is just going to continue as liberals will spare no taxpayer expe...

Pyrite is a mineral made up primarily of iron that looks like gold, thus it's nickname of "fool's gold."  It looks like valuable gold but in reality, it is generally useless and of little to no value. As America continues celebrating godlessness and too many members of churches fail to look significantly different than the secular culture taking over this nation. A growing number of churches and p...

We often discuss how radical liberalism is eventually exposed and dismissed because of its obvious self-defeating contradictions.  In their zeal to develop more and more "protected classes" of people, they eventually run into a contradiction they cannot reconcile with their attempts to make everyone feel like a victim.  This morning we look at liberals and feminists along with conservative women i...

Pastors and elders are called to be strong, loving, spiritually mature men that guard and protect the flock of Jesus Christ assigned to them.  They are to stand and fight against disguised wolves that bring false doctrines into the church, guarding the people Jesus has entrusted to them. But a growing number of Christians are seeing that biblical job description morphing into something completely...
