Summer is almost upon us! Indeed with Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 already in theaters, summer is arguably already here. But there's still lots of weeks of movies to come, with the most fully-stocked calendar of big tentpoles since 2019. To celebrate, we're casting our gaze forward to share our picks for our most anticipated films of the summer, as well as kick off our annual game of trying to...

AUDIO NOTE: Please forgive the intense hail that was inflicting Wisconsin while Tim recorded.   To conclude musical month, Tim and Brennan are biting into the Disney Channel original musical Z-O-M-B-I-E-S from 2018 and parsing its truly mystifying, yet entirely blunt, themes and design.   Love the Podcast? Thanks to Patreon supporter Harold Bleacher, we're going to be prodding at some of our most sensitive emotional scar tissue in our next episode: by his request, we're going to spend our next podcast talking about the top 5 most traumatizing films we've ever seen. Expect many dead parents of wide-eyed animal children, gore effects whose cheesiness through adult eyes can't quite take the edge off of...

Oscar-level Patron Gavin McDowell has requested that we cover non-Christian religious horror this month, so we're closing March out with a discussion of Haitian voodoo, as oh-so sensitively handled by the 1932 Bela Lugosi outing WHITE ZOMBIE!   Love the Podcast? This week *should* be a big week here at Alternate Ending because it is, in fact, the week of the 95th Academy Awards. Though, it's fair to say that only 33% of us loves the Oscars, another 33% tolerates them and the other % mostly avoids them by sneaking away for snacks, in order to suppress their rage.  Though, that didn't stop our Pringle-eating critic from predicting 16 of the night's 95th Aca...

This week, Carrie and Tim decide to cut the small talk and get-right-to-it with their Oscar predictions for the upcoming awards ceremony.  But then, they didn't do that at all... and somewhere around the 45 min mark they remembered that this is a film podcast *goshdarnit* and got right down to the business of movies. Tune in and we hope you enjoy! **************************************************...

This week, Carrie and Tim are on their own. Left to their own devices, the conversation veers from film, to exotic dancers, back to film and back to gastrointestinal struggles, as all good podcasts do. By Patreon supporter Zotch Ross's request, Carrie brings her thoughts on Once Upon a Time in China and thoughts on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania .  Tim brings his thoughts on THX-1138, at the re...

This month, Tim and Brennan are digging the horror movie skeletons out of the closets of actors nominated for Oscars this year! First, we're starting with Ana de Armas, who was nominated for her performance as Marilyn Monroe in Blonde. But 7 years before that, she was in the scrappy little Eli Roth exploitation film that couldn't, KNOCK KNOCK! Let's talk talk about it!   Love the Podcast? Leave us...

To close out our month of follow-ups, Brennan and Tim are diving back into the feature that followed 1988's Elvira, Mistress of the Dark by a lot longer than seems proper: the 2002 pastiche ELVIRA'S HAUNTED HILLS!   Love the Podcast? Happy New Year, everyone! This week, Carrie and Tim are joined by Mandy Albert to discuss our most anticipated films of 2023! We might not have enough titles to populate a full Top 5, but it's still a bracing discussion of what's next at the movies! Also, make sure to nominate your favorite titles in Mandy's Golden Spoon Awards here: https://www.alternateending.com/blog/alternate-ending-presents-t...

Tim and Brennan are kicking off the new year by following up on titles they covered throughout 2022. A couple months ago, we covered the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead, so it's high time to circle back around and cover the 2004 remake of DAWN OF THE DEAD, directed by Zack Snyder and written by James Gunn!   Love the Podcast? With many thanks to  Patreon subscriber Jack C. we have been given a real doozy of a topic for this week:  Top 5 Movies You Hate That Everyone Else Loves Seems pretty innocuous, right? WRONG . This topic is at the foundation of where all blood baths are formed. Tensions where high, but the episode remained *mostly* cordial, due to pure mental and emotional fatigue from our respective hosts. Whose...
