90 Under 90

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 07/18/2019 Another week, another Disney reboot.  We talk with Kaitlin about the OG Lion King from 1994, the movie that encapsulates the Disney-ssaince of the early 90's.  Featuring the voice talents of James Earl Jones, Matthew Broderick, Jonathon Taylor Thomas, Jeremy Irons, Whoopi Goldberg, Nathan Lane and Cheech Marin.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 06/27/2019 This week is the opposite end of the animation spectrum, as we move from the lush, smooth depth of CGI to the simplest form of construction paper cutout style cartoons.  Celebrating its 20th anniversary, we sit down with Ian to talk about Trey Parker's "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut", the R-rated series elevation from 1999.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 06/20/2019 With its fourth chapter hitting theaters today, we look back on the original Pixar classic that started the second greatest film franchise of all time: 1995's "Toy Story" directed by John Lasseter and made possible by a barebones creative team. With an all star cast including Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, we discuss Kaitlin's personal connection to the movie and whether...

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 06/06/2019 Rick joins the brothers to talk about a movie he and Jer saw in the theater together (but then he completely forgot): 2002's "Men In Black II" starring Will Smith and flabba shabba shabbity doo Tommy Lee Jones.  DIrected once again by Barry Sonnenfeld, the sequel treads all of the familiar ground from the first flick but still feels like a made for TV movie.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 05/30/2019 Mike joins the Edens to discuss the third SNL movie on our list: 2010's "MacGruber" directed by Jorma Taccone and starring Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Val Kilmer, Powers Boothe, and Ryan Phillippe.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 05/16/2019 Jer and Dan welcome new guest host Pat Lewandowski to the show to discuss another documentary that almost feels like a parody of itself.  Covering the 1975  Mr. Universe competition, we're talking "Pumping Iron" directed by George Butler and Robert Fiore and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, Mike Katz, Franco Columbo, and Ken Waller.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 05/09/2019 Katie joins the brothers to talk about the fuckiest movie we've discussed so far, Joseph Gordon Levitt's directorial debut "Don Jon" from 2013, starring JGL himself, a prime Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, Tony Danza, Brie "Silent Bob" Larson, indie joints, and a whole mess of porno.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 05/02/2019 Now that Jeremy and Kaitlin have been in their new home for a week, it's only appropriate that we talk about a vaguely thematically-connected Disney family movie from 1993: "Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey" directed by Duwayne Dunham and featuring the voice talents of Michael J. Fox, Sally Field, and Don Ameche.  Also Robert Hays is hanging around this m...

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 04/25/2019 With Marvel's Avengers facing their Endgame, we thought it would be appropriate to give some time to a forgotten Avenger.  "The Toxic Avenger" to be precise.  Mike joins Jer and Dan to discuss the 1984 B-movie directed by Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman, which launched the Troma brand.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 04/18/2019 Jer and Dan are joined by our new guest host Tom Zarnowski to discuss one of the pinnacle stoner movies: 1998's "Half Baked" directed by Tamra Davis and starring Dave Chappelle, Jim Breuer, Guillermo Diaz, and Harland Williams.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 03/28/2019 With Tim Burton's reimagining just about to fly into theaters, we sit down with Ian Simmons to discuss the shortest movie we will probably ever talk about: 1941's "Dumbo" from Walt Disney Pictures, directed by a slew of sequence directors.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 03/21/2019 The brothers welcome back Kaitlin Eden (a formerly Irish girl) to discuss the next most Irish movie on their list: 1999's "Superstar" directed by Bruce McCulloh and starring Molly Shannon.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 03/14/2019 Just in time for the new television series adaptation, we talk with Katie this week about a movie co-directed by the same dude who directed her [current] all time favorite movie "Thor: Ragnorak."  That's right, we're talking about Taika Waititi's "What We Do In the Shadows" from 2014, starring Taika himself and Jemaine Clemente.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 03/07/2019 After a couple weeks of discussing movies about losers, it's time we talk about true winners.  Winners like Billy Mitchell, the reigning Donkey Kong high score champion since 1982.  That is until he's dethroned by the mild-mannered Steve Wiebe.  Will Billy let this man claim the title that is rightfully his?  Listen in as we chat with Ian Simmons...

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 02/14/2019 Due to technical difficulties, our original Valentine's Day episode is lost forever.  So instead we present you with three guys talking about a children's character who should NEVER be associated with romance.  Ron Eden joins his sons to talk about 1988's "Big Top Pee-wee" directed by Randal Kleiser and starring Paul Reubens as the titular Pee-wee Herman,...

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 02/07/2019 Mike returns to talk about a movie that exists in a universe unto itself: 2007's "Hot Rod" starring Andy Samberg, Isla Fisher, and Ian McShane.  Written by Pam Brady and then re-written by The Lonely Island team, the movie bombed in its release, but that didn't stop Mike from loving it.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 01/31/2019 Jer and Dan celebrate a very special 50 episodes of 90 Under 90 by chatting with very special guest Sean Gerber (MCU Fan Show) to talk about the criminally underrated "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" from 1993, directed by Eric Radomski and Bruce Time, building off of the nearly impossible quality of "Batman: The Animated Series" for a movie that some still consider t...

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 01/17/2019 Unfortunately time cuts short this fascinating conversation with Ian Simmons about 2003's "The Station Agent" written and directed by Tom McCarthy, and starring Peter Dinklage, Patricia Clarkson, and Bobby Cannavale.
