Poems & Whiskey
Poems & Whiskey is the project of Michael C. It's a weird and rambly talk show that's usually pretty funny. Enough that the Spotify powers that be labeled this show 'comedy'. Now whether that means I'm funny or that I'm a joke, well... In this thing, I talk to all sorts of creative types across all levels of skill and exposure. We sit and chat about what the hell we think we're doing and have drink (or two). Pull up a chair and join us, friend. Cheers y'all! Updates 2 times a month or so on Wednesdays. Hosted on Acast. If Thou Dislik'st What Thou First Light'st On -Dean Young fr First Course in Turbulence I had come to the house, in a cave of trees, I had dreamed of the perfect gray pants, I have a life that did not become, a young sister made of glass. I have done it again. I like a church, I like a cowl, I like the look of agony. I love the old melodious lays, I love it when they demonstrate the oxygen masks,...
Become Who You Are 30.07.2026 1:44:04
x fr The Visible Man by Henri Cole To write what is human, not escapist: that is the problem of the hand moving apart from the body Yet, subject is only pretext for assembling the words whose real story is process is flow. So the hand lurches forward, gliding back serenely, radiant with tears, a million beings and objects hypnotizing me as I sit and stare. Not stupefied. Not aching. Today I am one...

This nephew of snails, six feet long, lies naked on a bed With a smiling woman, his head throws off light Under marble, he is moving toward his own life Like fur, walking. Smile in the Dark 04.06.2026 2:06:18
the pleasures of the damned by charles bukowski the pleasures of the damned are limited to brief moments of happiness: like the eyes in the look of a dog, like a square of wax, like a fire taking the city hall, the county, the continent, like fire taking the hair of maidens and monsters; and hawks buzzing in peach trees, the sea running between their claws, Time drunk and damp, everything burning,...
Searching for a Trail 21.05.2026 2:05:34
Surprised By Evening by Robert Bly There is unknown dust that is near us Waves breaking on shores just over the hill Trees full of birds that we have never seen Nets drawn with dark fish. The evening arrives; we look up and it is there It has come through the nets of the stars Through the tissues of the grass Walking quietly over the asylums of the waters. The day shall never end we think: We have...

To Reach You 09.04.2026 2:30:25
My house says to me, “Do not leave me, for here dwells your past.” And the road says to me, “Come and follow me, for I am your future.” And I say to both my house and the road, “I have no past, nor have I a future. If I stay here, there is a going in my staying; and if I go there is a staying in my going. Only love and death change all things.” -- Kahlil Gibran from Sand and Foam Marcus Benjamin R...

Demeter’s Prayer to Hades "This alone is what I wish for you: knowledge. / To understand each desire has an edge, / to know we are responsible for the lives / we change. No faith comes without cost, / no one believes without dying. / Now for the first time I see clearly the trail you planted, / what ground opened to waste, / though you dreamed a wealth / of flowers. / There are no curses—only mirr...

I don't really like traditional summaries, clearly. lol Coming to the close of s3 is something alright. Joaquin Fernandez and I do the art talk, as per.
