Smack in the middle of In 3-D is a track that started a tradition on practically every album that came out after this. Also if you haven't jumped on the TIkTok trend yet .... Teenage Dirtbag is being used as a TikTok right now and you should film something on your TikTok for it!! Le...

This week we are joined by Jeff Nucera who has arguably more Al-cred than any other human on the planet. Hopefully its one of your favorites as well. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoice...

In one of Al's strangest songs he blends the sounds of Reggae with niche Yuppie culture. While it's funny we can't help but debate if the satire still comes off as appropriation. This week we are talking about Al's parody of Men Without Hats "Safety Dance" which one of your hosts thinks is a contender for one of the worst Al parodies of all time. Is he over-reacting or is this anti-Brady Bunch song truly the bottom of the barrel for Al? In 1984; Al had every intention of this original to be the lead single off In 3-D. Instead he released the parody Eat It. We discuss how we feel about this original and if we think this could have worked as a single! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

We are joined with One Hit Thunder host and Punchline bassist Chris Fafalios to talk about THE song that truly kick-started Al's career ... his Michal Jackson parody EAT IT. We have our first ever guest and not only does he love Al... he's met him! Welcome Dustin Rubin of the Two Dollar Late Fee podcast to the show!! Holy crap we did it! We finished the first album and man does this album ever end on a perfect closing note. It could be argued this is the darkest and meanest song Al ever wrote but damn if it isn't funny. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Reportedly this song is based on a true event that Al's girlfriend at the time experienced with her ex. Al was so floored by the story that he created a song specifically about it. It's a truly 80's punk thing to do but is the song any good? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

This week we discuss I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead which shows Al really giving hippies and and therapy a piece of his mind. It's very very possible that one of the reasons he doesn't play this song love anymore is that that subject matter doesn't stand the test of time for him but it could also be a low-key great highlight of the album. Listen to figure out how we feel about it. Learn more about y...

This is another big one of the early years and the final parody of the self titled album. Al made the strange choice to not do a studio recording but instead put the original super low-fi version he recorded live on Dr. Demento years earlier. How does it ultimately stack up to his other parodies thus far? Listen and find out!! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

This week the Matt's break down the toe-tapping anti-music industry bop from Weird al's self titled album "The Checks in the Mail". Do they think this is a highlight of this under appreciated album or is it one of the first things people think of when they complain about this album? Listen and find out!! It's time to finally discuss the song that was Al's first genuine single; for the self-titled however he re-recorded the song from it's original bathroom quality to a more produced sound. But how does this crucial song stack up against the other parodies discussed so far!? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

"Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" which brought two icons Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks together on one track; the original song has been fairly forgotten which doesn't do much to make the parody particularly memorable either. But just because it's forgettable doesn't mean the parody itself is bad! Where will the Matts ultimately rank this? If you're digging the show follow us on Instagram: @weirdalgor...

Today we're discussing Weird Al's first Style Parody, Happy Birthday. The song is inspired by the songs of Tonio K, one of Al's favorite artists. The song is dark, very weird but also quite fun. Not only did this song make Matt a fan of Tonio K; but it's also a go to Birthday song to send friends for Matthew. This is a strange one. Weird Al reportedly wrote this song as a parody of Jack & Diane but John Melloncamp declined. Instead of completely scrapping the song he redid it as a Blue song instead. It's clear that the lyrics mostly remained unchanged when he switched to the new style. The Matt's discuss this particularly mean-spirited song that did not age well over the last 40 years and also discuss...
