Three Geeky Dads

Hammer Studios is at it again with another classic monster movie remake...this time, it's Hammer's one and only Werewolf movie starring the one and only Oliver Reed. Reed stars as Leon, born under dubious circumstances; we soon find out that young Leon may be the very creature stalking and killing the livestock in his small village. As Leon grows to manhood and he strikes out on his own, matters o...

Rutger Hauer was one of our favorite genre actors. From his starring roles in Ladyhawke and Blade Runner and even in his smaller, supporting roles in such films as Sin City and Batman Begins, Rutger Hauer has left a lasting legacy for many movie fans to discover and enjoy. Tonight, we rediscover Rutger Hauer in The Hitcher. A 1986 thriller also starring C. Thomas Howell and Jennifer Jason Leigh. S...

Who's watching the kids??? Certainly not the Three Geeky Dads! While we were recovering from another summer hangover...uh, we mean, mowing the lawn...apparently our daughters got their hands on the recording equipment and decided to make a podcast of their own! So, here are our daughters, Emily and Quinn, the Two Geeky Girls!!!

As summer drags on like a bandage-wrapped, revenge-seeking high priest of ancient Egypt and the weather is as hot as the Giza plateau at high noon, we continue our Half way to Halloween Hammer Horror series with a look at 1959's The Mummy starring Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee!

Yes, San Diego Comic Con was last week! No, our wives (and wallets) would not allow us to go! But, that doesn't mean we still can't present to you everything that we thought was cool from last weekend's Con. Tonight, we break down all the SDCC goodness...the movie trailers, announcements, panels and much much more!!!

This episode, we take a look at two of the hottest things to hit the country this summer (besides this oppressive heat wave that is!) and those things are Spider-Man: Far From Home and Stranger Things season 3!

Hammer's follow-up to the excellent "Horror of Dracula" is a well-made, richly-colored sequel which suffers only from the conspicuous lack of Dracula himself!!!  Or does it? For, we we soon learn that he is not all that missed as we have the return of the always amazing Peter Cushing, reprising his role as the heroic vampire hunter and in place of Christopher Lee's Dracula, we have a young, blond...

Some say a hero is only as good as the villain he fights. If that's the case, then, Batman is truly the greatest hero of them all! In our most humble of opinions, no superhero has a better selection of villains to beat up on than Batman and tonight we take a look at most of them all! From the Joker to Two-Face and from the Penguin to Condiment King and everyone in between, we rank them, see what m...

We love Hammer Horror movies but, it's summer, not Halloween so what's a podcast to do? Create a fake holiday to talk about it...we bring you our Halfway to Halloween Hammer Horror series...part 2! This time we look at Hammer Studio's take on Dracula in 1958's The Horror of Dracula also starring Christopher Lee as Dracula and Peter Cushing (this time, as the good guy) as Van Helsing!

Welcome to the first in a series we like to call the Halfway to Halloween Hammer Horror series. In our first part, we take a quick look at the little British studio who began cranking out remakes of the older Universal Monster properties. The movie that Hammer produced first was 1957's The Curse of Frankenstein! Starring Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee in the first of many, many Hammer Horror mo...

From the GNN (Geek News Network) News Desk, it's (Irish) roving reporter, Derek Raynard, along with the other two dads, Marc and Brien to bring you all the latest and greatest that's happening around this big ol' geeky globe!!!

Yes, we know, school is out for most and summer is now in full swing but, allow Geek Dad Derek take you back to school to learn all about the caped crusader, his infamous and extensive Rogues Gallery of villainous foes, the bat-family, his allies and, of course, the batmobile!

Take everything that was good about Steven Speilberg's Jaws...the barely seen shark menacing the folks of Amity Island, John William's haunting and iconic score, characters we cared about and hoped they succeeded in getting rid of that big fish once and for all... ...then, do exactly the opposite for the 4th installment of the franchise and you have Jaws: The Revenge! Trust us...after just a few m...

Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering! And suffer we did! Tonight, we take a look back at the Phantom Menace, the first of the prequel movies and the 4th in Star Wars franchise! And you know what that means?!? It's bad!!! As we continue with our bad fourth-movie-in-a-franchise series, we, along with friend of the show Josh Hurst, endure Midichlorians, not so great green...

The Three Geeky Dads, along with friend of the show Josh Hurst, are back with another geeky news break!

The Three Geeky Dads are back again with more geek news from the files of fandom. Tonight, we cover Disney's Galaxy's Edge opening in Disneyland, Swamp Thing & Good Omens premiere this week, Horror movie news, comics and much, much more.

"When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die." That famous quote from Cersei was never more true as we all witnessed the long-running HBO fantasy drama come to a divisive close this past week. Tonight the Dads choose to weigh in with their thoughts on the show because (to paraphrase Tyrion...) "we drink and we know things!"

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull...more like Indiana Jones and the sequel nobody asked for!!! Bad CGI in place of practical stunts and sets? Check!!! Poorly conceived characters and 2-dimensional bad guys? Check! Nostalgia, in-jokes and self-parody in place of a good story? CHECK!!! Strap in kids as Grandpa Jones drags you through the Jungle on a tedious expedition that has none...

The Three Geeky Dads are back with another Geek News Extra. Tune in as the dads discus almost all the geek news that matters!

So, we recently took a look at Avengers Endgame, probably the best superhero movie in the history of superhero movies...now we take a look at Batman and Robin, arguably the worst superhero movie ever!!! The movie that killed a franchise! What Tim Burton built up to bring Batman out of the campy spotlight he'd been in since the late 60's, Joel Schumacher brought it back there and then some in just...

It's just a show, I should really just relax! Whilst editing our next episode, I realized we were testing the microphone set-up after noticing that our levels were so out of whack when we recorded our Endgame episode...and we somehow went on for almost 15 minutes about MST3k (Mystery Science Theater 3000). Anyway, what could have been relegate to the out-takes section during the credits seemed to...

A geek apart... Tonight, roving reporter Derek Raynard goes deep undercover to bring you all the geek news that's fit to record!

Geeks...assemble!!! The Three Geeky Dads, along with 3 more of their geeky friends (Dan Bacon, Dave Werner & Omer Courcy) band together to take on this summer's hottest superhero movie!

Two superhero movies released within weeks of each other. Both of them were (are) known as Captain Marvel (although now, one is called Shazam because...well, reasons!) Anyway, the dads saw both films and, yes, the dads have opinions! Tonight, we take a look at two "marvelous" films...Captain Marvel and SHAZAM!!!

What makes a horror-comedy? Is it merely a scary movie that's full of jokes or is it a funny movie that's also bloody and gory...or is it somewhere in between? Tonight, the Dads take a look at just what makes up a horror-comedy and they also talk about some of their favorites!
