With the 2024 season done and dusted, attention now turns to the Dolphins' roster and what adjustments are needed before the 2025 season begins. The first step of that process is an evaluation of the current roster, including a look at those players who are on expiring contracts. Who should be re-signed? Who should be extended? Who should be moved on from Aaron and Josh are back to look at all of...

Before we can fully flush the 2024 Miami Dolphins' season down the proverbial toilet of history, we have to first take one last look back at the highs and the lows of the campaign. What were the brightest moments and who were the best players? What were the bleakest moments and who were the biggest disappointments? Join Aaron and Josh as they review the year that was and give out their end of seas...

What an absolute circus of clown shoes. The Miami Dolphins' 2024 season came to a close in appropriately embarrassing fashion on Sunday: by allowing Aaron Rodgers to look like his former self and pass all over them. Tyler Huntley looked inept and out of his depth. Mike McDaniel did too. It was just gross. And then, with Dolphins fans optimistic that changes would be made in the organization, Steph...

The Miami Dolphins did what they needed to do to keep their slim playoff hopes on life support on Sunday by defeating the Cleveland Browns 20-3. Tyler Huntley demonstrated an improved comfort with the team's offense and played better than in his previous appearances, leading the team in rushing along the way. Tyreek Hill had a bounce back game and Jonnu Smith equaled the franchise record for touch...

It's a Festivus celebration! The Miami Dolphins defeated the San Francisco 49ers 29-17, keeping their very faint playoff hopes alive for at least another seven days. It was one of the most complete wins of the season for the Dolphins, with the offense, defense, and special teams each contributing. But does a home victory over a mediocre 49ers actually change any of the existing narratives or futur...

You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm tellin' you why... Because there are still three Miami Dolphins football games left and we might as well enjoy them now before they're gone! Kyle Shanahan, Brock Purdy, and the San Francisco 49ers are coming to town for a game that doesn't mean nearly as much as we might have thought or hoped earlier in the year. Regardless, it's g...

In a development that should shock absolutely nobody, the Miami Dolphins FAILED to win a road game in December against a playoff-bound opponent. And the blame can be pointed at all the usual suspects. Their $230M franchise quarterback saved arguably his worst performance of the season for one of the biggest games. The WR1 whom the Dolphins traded premium draft capital to acquire once again disappe...

After defeating the Jets last week, the Dolphins head into the toughest remaining matchup on their schedule: a road date with the Houston Texans. the game provides the Dolphins with yet another opportunity to prove they can beat a playoff-caliber opponent on the road. Can they take advantage of it? Aaron and Josh are back to look at what is going to be a big test for a tired, beat up, and ultimate...

Most Dolphins fans found themselves hoping for a relatively easy Sunday afternoon where they'd see their team smash the struggling New York Jets. After all, the Jets were beat up, out of sorts, and playing out the string of an absolutely catastrophic failure of a season. What they got instead was a hard-fought, back-and-forth football game that required some late-game heroics (and some fortunately...

After a disappointing performance on Thanksgiving Night, the Miami Dolphins will be back in action on Sunday, taking on the team that has been a three ring circus wrapped in a tin foil hat and tossed into a dumpster fire: the Stinkin' New York Jets. With their own season teetering on the edge of disaster, the Dolphins need a big bounce back performance. Can they get a more consistent performance f...

Stop us if you've heard this one before: the Miami Dolphins, generating momentum with victories over bad and mediocre teams, had a chance to prove themselves a legitimate contender by taking on a quality opponent on the road in the winter on national television. Then, as if on cue, the Dolphins fell flat on their faces, looking confused and unprepared in the process. While they eventually found th...

The Miami Dolphins CRUISED to victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday. It was the first time all season and perhaps since last November that things felt "easy" for the Dolphins, leaping out to a 31-0 lead early in the third quarter. From there, it felt like the Dolphins went into cruise control mode and things got a little sloppy on both side of the ball, but the Dolphins did what they nee...

It seems like it was in another lifetime when the Dolphins defeated the Patriots in Foxboro with Snoop Huntley leading the offense against Jacoby Brissett. Since then, the Dolphins have gotten Tua Tagovailoa back and their offense is rounding into form. The team is threatening to become a player in the race for the AFC playoffs. Meanwhile, the Patriots have moved on from Brissett and allowed their...

The Miami Dolphins' offense was practically unstoppable as the Dolphins defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 34-19 on Sunday. Scoring on ever possession (except the very end of the first half), the team's offensive evolution took center stage. Not only did they take what the Raiders gave them, but Tua Tagovailoa was able to scramble and create plays off-schedule, a pair of characteristics that have been...

After defeating the Rams on Monday Night Football, the Dolphins return home this week to take on the lowly Las Vegas Raiders, who come into the game on a five game losing streak, making them the coldest team in the NFL. Internally, Dolphins players and staff seem to believe that the return of Tua Tagovailoa has has a positive impact and that it is not beyond them to make a run at the playoffs, des...

The Miami Dolphins flew across the country in need of a big win to attempt to right a sinking ship. They got perhaps their best defensive performance of the season and another positive showing from the offense (though not without some warts). The Dolphins will fly back across the country bringing a big road win with them and, regardless of how you feel about their chances the rest of the way, that...

While the season has been long, grueling, and not at all what anybody has hoped for thus far, the Dolphins still have 9 games to go. Can the Dolphins continue with the momentum their offense has built over the last two weeks? Can the defense get its act together against a potent offense? Can the Dolphins pickup a west coast win for the second straight year? Aaron and Josh are back to discuss the g...

The Miami Dolphins played what was easily their best game of the 2024 season on Sunday in Buffalo. In fact, you could argue that it was the best game they've played in two and a half seasons under Mike McDaniel. It wasn't good enough. Despite of an excellent performance from Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins offense, the team fell short 30-27, losing on a 61-yard field goal in the game's dying secon...

After a heartbreaking last-second loss to Arizona in Tua Tagovailoa's return in Week 8, almost all hope of salvaging the 2024 Miami Dolphins season went out the window. Now, the last vestiges of hope ride on Miami going into Buffalo and defeating the Bills on the road. To say optimism is low would be an understatement. With Aaron still traveling, Josh is joined by Kevin Dern of DolphinsTalk Weekly...

The Miami Dolphins received a big lift on Sunday as Tua Tagovailoa returned to the field. The Dolphins' offense immediately looked cohesive and functional. They moved the ball well in the air and on the ground, much like the famous song suggests. However, as has been demonstrated time and again, they are not a well-coached team. Sloppy mistakes stunted promising drives. The team's $200 million dol...

Barring a significant development, the Miami Dolphins will have their QB1 back in the saddle this Sunday afternoon. Tua Tagovailoa is progressing through the concussion protocol and was a full participant in practice on Thursday. In more worrying news, Tyreek Hill was limited with a foot injury. That could be anything, but it’s something to monitor. That aside, the Dolphins should be in position t...

On Sunday afternoon, the Miami Dolphins once again lost a football game because the passing game was largely ineffective, highlighting the flawed build of the team. There were also flashing neon lights pointing to Mike McDaniel and Chris Grier's negligence. They neglected to field a suitable backup quarterback after investing in an injury-prone quarterback. McDaniel neglected to create an offense...

Today on the Same Old Dolphins Show, Aaron and Mike preview this week's game between the Dolphins and the Colts as the Dolphins play most likely their last game without Tua. Can the Dolphins get to .500 and back into the playoff hunt? Plus, they find a few minutes to talk about some reality TV (yes, it can't be all football all the time.) This episode of the Same Old Dolphins Show includes all thi...
