That Would Be Rad

This week Tyler pulled a fast one on Woody by surprising him with a totally different episode topic. This is, of course, after both he and Woody had decided on a topic, prepared for the show, done the research, and clicked the "record" button... Although traditionally Tyler is pretty bad at spoilers, he kept this one close to the chest until the very last minute. This week we talk about The Falkvi...

For two years between 1896 and 1897, the skies of North America were invaded by a wave of airships. Some looked like UFOs as we know them today, while many more resembled futuristic dirigibles. On last week’s episode you already heard of the alleged airship crash in Aurora, Texas, in 1897...BUT - did you know that there were many other alleged airship crashes in places like Kalamazoo, Michigan, an...

Not only that but The Dallas Morning News reported at the time that the airship pilot , who was killed in the crash, was “not an inhabitant of this world .” The body of t...

Deep in the darkest heart of the Philippines sits an evil, shapeshifting creature that shares the grotesque characteri...

All of us here at That Would Be Rad have spent the first month of summer re-watching our favorite summer camp slashers, and even some that we had never seen before...( as heard on our previous episode S1 E42 ). So many of them were filmed in the '80s and while that's, of course, part of what draws us toward them...to say that it was "REFRESHING" that an upcoming horror movie was set in the '90s wo...

We all have those songs that take us right back to a specific time, a specific place, and maybe even with a specific person. Songs that make us reminisce about old friends, days filled with no responsibility, and perhaps even make us feel like they were written just for us. THIS WEEK we give you a list of our favorite songs that no matter where we are, or even what season... they take us away imme...

In this week's episode, we take you to New Orleans, Louisiana. Aka "The Big Easy", it's much more well known for its round-the-clock nightlife, vibrant live-music scene, spicy cuisine...and of course raucous costumed parades and street parties, like the annual Mardi Gras festival. It’s easy to forget, or perhaps even...ignore...the terrifying things lurking in the shadows of New Orleans. There are...

It's a solid fact that we can't talk about summer camp without also talking about one of our favorite subgenres of horror movies... the Summer Camp Slasher! Let's face it - we grew up with some great, iconic franchises in the Summer Camp Slasher genre. The first few that come to mind of course being the FRIDAY THE 13TH movies and SLEEPAWAY CAMP - but, we wanted to find some really good from the '8...

It's not every day that we get a chance to talk about our first love...SONGWRITING. We love being creative, we love storytelling, and it all started for us by writing songs together. This week we talk about how we were finally able to get together in person to do some songwriting! We talk about our process, other artists that influenced us throughout the years, and of course, even do a little work...

To so many, it may seem as though there has been an incredible increase in UFO activity across the globe. Almost daily it seems we’re reading an article or watching a viral video about UFO’s swarming Navy ships, zooming past Air Force towers, or even flying by passenger airliners. Sure recently, global governments are finally “admitting” they’ve witnessed strange things in the sky.   Even her...

In 1924 deep within the dense wilderness of British Columbia, one of the most unique encounters with Bigfoot occurred... A young hardworking lumberman named Albert Ostman , ventured out on his own after deciding to do a bit of gold prospecting around the Toba Inlet, situated on the B.C. coast. At first, things were going perfectly. He'd hiked for several days, witnessed awe-inspiring scenery, and...

The list of movies that were released in 1986 is insane, and, so many movies that were released that year had a gigantic impact on our life. This week we're talking about a movie from 1986 that, for numerous reasons, we fell in love with immediately when we saw it. In this episode, we’re talking about THE FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR . Fort Lauderdale, Florida...the 4th of July, 1978... 12-year-old Dav...

Every year since at least 1981 a strange, cryptic “ad” can be found inside the pages of “The Daily Wildcat” - the University of Arizona’s student newspaper. On May 1st, 1981 a seemingly simple, and mysterious photo - a combination of English letters and Chinese symbols was published. The picture itself could have easily been overlooked or perhaps even ignored, and if that had been the only one of...

On a late September evening in 1952, two young brothers playing outside witnessed what looked like a ball of flame soar over their heads and crash land on a local farmer's land. Recruiting their mother and a few neighbors, the group ventured into the woods of their small West Virginia town to investigate... What they found that night, or perhaps what found them, was something that would go down in...

It all started with an exciting purchase on eBay of an old obscure (and hard to find) '80s movie VHS... Then a few days after it arrives Woody's brother shoots him a text that says "Hey man, have you checked this out on Disney+ yet??" followed by a picture of THE STAR WARS VINTAGE COLLECTION. Much to Woody's surprise Disney+ had made some of their hardest, obscure Star Wars content available to st...

This week Tyler FINALLY pulls off being able to completely surprise Woody with a story without even so much as the slightest hint. We dive into the unknown, never-before-released Beatles album...

This week we discuss the greatest game ever invented that you can play with a group of people.
