Unbelief is the core problem for why we sin and why we fall into harmful sin patterns. How can we overcome unbelief in our lives? In this passage, the author of Hebrews shows us the mistakes Israel made in unbelief and challenges us to believe while it’s still called “today”.

The writer of Hebrews calls us to “consider Jesus”. What does that mean? To consider Jesus is to fix our thoughts on who He is and what He has done for us. To consider Jesus is the way we strive to live the Christian life we are called to live.

Why did Jesus become human? Jesus became human to make us family, to die for our sins and to provide us help when needed.

The author of Hebrews has explained how Jesus is greater through His loftiness. Now he transitions to show how Jesus is better through His lowliness. Beware of the danger of drifting from the great salvation we have in Christ. Drifting causes loss in our joy in Christ and drifting neglects the reliability of the Gospel message.
